"What are you doing with that?" Ranma asked, with some distrust.
"Oh, Shampoo just on deliveries, but had to stop by, give this to you". Then she pulled an envelope out and handed it to Ranma. "Stranger this morning in Nekohanten, gave this to Shampoo for deliver to you. He also gave one to Great-Grandmother".
As Ranma huffed slightly and frowned, still unsure of this not being just another trick, he opened the envelope and pulled a letter out of it. Meanwhile, the panda that had been sleeping on the futon next to his seemed to sniff the air, and opened his beady eyes, the smell of ramen stimulating him back to consciousness. Genma sat up and tried to grab the delivery box, only to have Shampoo whacking him across the head with her Bonbori.
"AIYAA! You leave that! That not for you!" she protested.
Ranma read the contents of the letter with attention, oblivious to them.
"Dear Mr. Saotome Ranma, Master of Anything Goes Martial Arts:
It is my pleasure to invite you, your honored father, Mr. Tendo Soun and his three daughters to an important, fateful meeting this Saturday evening at the outskirts of Nerima, in the manor located at the point marked in the map included with this letter. We are counting on your assistance, due to motives that cannot be explained this way, but will be explained in their totality at the gathering. Please, make sure to be there, all of you. We will be anxiously waiting for you.
My most heartfelt greetings,
Mr. Sadamoto Noah.
P.S.: There will be a totally free, all-you-can-eat buffet for all of you".
Ranma was intrigued by that. If it was some sort of setup or trap, it was nothing any of his usual enemies could have come up with. He scratched his head with a hand, trying to think about what to do next.
Genma peeked over his shoulder down at the letter, and pulled a sign out 'Free all-you can eat buffet!!'.
"Yeah... tempting, huh?" Ranma rubbed his chin. "However...".
'However, nothing!' said the next sign the panda pulled out. 'We can't reject such a kind, honest invitation!'.
"I guess not, but... huh" His son finally just shrugged his shoulders. "What th' heck, it's not like we should be afraid or anything, right? Must be just a newcomer to the area, wanting to meet us... or to issue a challenge to me. Anyway, I have no reasons for not going".
'Well said, boy! That's my son!' Genma showed another sign, satisfied.
"Heh" Ranma smiled and tightened a fist. "And here I thought this would be a boring weekend!".
