Naviru Lost Lamb: Difficult Ground [Episode 50014]

by Mantech1

3 AU (Astronomical Units) out beyond the orbit of Pluto a Jurian sensor platform picked up a FTL source. As per its programming the platform sent off a quick pulse to the nearest Jurian ships as its primary power source was brought up to full power. Around it five other sensor platforms came up to full power in response to the first platforms signal and the incoming FTL ship. With six sensor platforms working together it was a simple task to triangulate the source and direction of the FTL ship(s) as well as destination. Once this was accomplished the platforms on-board computers began to sift through the data quickly accumulated by the platforms active sensors, searching for FTL signatures, variances, anything to indicate the ship type and or number of ships fast approaching.

A signal reached the sensor platforms instructing them to focus on the FTL source, then relay the information to several Jurian ships now entering the system. Given the code number assigned to signal the Sensor Platforms readied their power cores for self-destruct.

Officially Jurai has no interest in the Sol System, the only reason it was ever claimed along with several hundred thousand other systems was to act as a buffer against those would-be Empires that would seek closer vantage points from which to watch Jurai's activities.

Unofficially the Sol System was very important to the Jurian Royal Family as the Earth was currently the residence of the Princess's Sasami and Ayeka along with Yosho and his descendant Tenchi Masaki. This is why a series of special devices had been installed around Earth to give warning of any serious threats to that world. However the sensor platforms beyond the orbit of Pluto were not part of that system, in fact, Emperor Azusa didn't even know about them.

Aboard the Star of Hope's bridge the bridge bunny in charge of the sensor station tapped at the control board, looking for abnormalities though finding none.

"Captain. We will reach/overshoot optimum exit point in two minutes."

"Good, take us out of hyperspace ten seconds before optimum exit point."

"Aye,Captain." The Navigator dressed as a catgirl chirped as she set the captains order into the computer.

The girl at the Sensor Station watched the countdown on her screen, waiting tensely along with the rest of the crew, until it reached zero. Immediately the main screen switched from displaying information relating the the Orphan Fleets status to a real-time picture of normal space as the ships exited/surfaced from hyperspace. The bridge bunny though saw none of this as her board lit up with icons for unknowns.

"Captain....
