"He's right there," Mercury said, pointing. Cologne looked toward Keiichi and snorted.
"He is no martial artist," Cologne said. "I mean the 'girl' Ranma. Then one who's engaged to my grand-daughter."
"He was engaged?!" Keiichi said, surprised. "He's only 11."
"Oh dear," Belldandy said. "I'm afraid that Ranma cannot be engaged to anyone." Cologne frowned.
"How is that?" she demanded, frowning and not liking the comment coming from the young woman. There was something powerful about her that didn't sit right somehow. Of course the...cat-girl...was a genie, though Cologne did not know why a marid would desire to look like a snow leopard.
"Because Ranma is no longer human," Mercury said. "She is a genie, and her prison is held by Keiichi Morisato."
"And how did this come about?" Cologne asked, frowning deeper.
"That is private business," Keiichi said.
"I'd advise you not to toy with me, boy," Cologne said. "I have 3000 years of Amazon lore behind me."
"And we have about 8000 years of magical power and knowledge behind us," Urd said.
"And we are beyond age," Mercury added. "And this is all very pointless."
"I would see this genie Ranma before I can believe such a story," Cologne said, ignoring the comments about history. She smiled as the faces of those she was talking to turned reluctant. "So are you hiding him?"
"Go ahead and summon her," Mercury said. "Briefly."
"Mars come forward," Keiichi declared. A brief flash of light quickly revealed Ranma-chan sleeping on the ground, huddled tightly in on herself. She slowly started to blink awake.
"Huh...?" she asked, not really aware of where she was for the moment. She glanced around for a moment before Keiichi quickly sent her back and she returned to the soothing darkness of her ring, and her friend's quiet reassuring voice lulling her back to sleep.
"Do you believe now?" Keiichi asked.
"Perhaps you should tell me how this came about," Cologne said.
"Perhaps you should tell us how you got here," Mercury countered. "I am beginning to sense something about you."
"Oh, the dark genie?" Cologne said, smiling. "She is under control."
