Did I forget to mention there was wood?
Anyway, with a punch, a kick, a punch, a few more kickss, and a Katchu Tenshin Amaguriken here and there, Ranma was making his way through the forest. After all, he was Ranma Saotome. He wasn't going to ley a few monsters get between him and his first real shot at getting cured those innocent women in desperate need of help.
"Ah, damn..." Ranma grumbled as he strecthed. "How many damned orcs are there in this forest? They breed faster than roaches, I tell ya..." Ranma said to no one in particular.
However, a voice did hear him. And answered. "Quite a few actually." Came a female voice. "Though it seems you killed the vast majority of them. And with only your fists too. Quite impressive."
Hearing THAT put Ranma on edge. He spun around a bit, looking around for the speaker. "Who's there? Show yourself!"
And show herself she did. Jumping out from the tree-tops and landing right near him was a blonde-haired, blue-eyed elven woman dressed in green with leather armor, and loose boots. Ranma had to admit, she had the cutest pointed ears he'd eve seen. "Okay... Who are you?" Ranma asked.
The Elven woman smiled brightly at Ranma. "My name is Deedlit."
"Deedlit, eh?" Ranma asked. Giving her the classic, heart-melting, woman-swooning Saotome smile, Ranma held out his hand and said, "The name's Ranma. Ranma Saotome. Pleased ta' meet ya'."
Deedlit's smile seemed to widen with that. At last! A man! She rarely saw any of them nowadays, especially since a third of them had become more perverted than usual evil and followed the likes of Dark Schneider. She shook Ranma's hand. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance."
When the broke the handshake, Ranma was still looking at the elven woman. "So, what we're you doing out here?"
Deedlit wrapped her arms around her chest. "I could ask you the same thing."
Scratching the back of his head in slight embarassment, Ranma said, "Well, I'm here to free the Goddess Washu."
Deedlit blinked her eyes. "You are!?"
"Er, yeah. Something wrong?" Ranma asked.
Deedlit shook her head. "No, not at all!" She smiled internally. He just had to be the prophecised one. This was night-time, a full moon. He was studly a hero. He even admitted he was here to save the Goddess, and in effect, the lands of Strawberry Field!
Ranma looked at all the little hearts and flower petals floating about Deedlit and became a little nervous. "So," Ranma began, trying to get Deedlit's attention, "Where can I find this Goddess Washu?"
Deedlit came to reality for a moment. "Huh? What?" SHe blinked her eyes, Ranma's question registering in her mind. Oh, OH! That's simple enough. I can take you to her."
"You can?" Ranma asked, excited at the prospect of meeting the Goddess..
"Yes." Deedlit said. "The Goddess Washu WAS returned to us... She's just imprisoned."
"Oh." Ranma said, his excitment fading.
Deedlit frowned as she watched Ranma seem to sadden. She was hoping he'd ask her to be his guide through the forest and to Queen Integra's Castle. She wanted so badly to get some hot, wet, nasty nookie from the wild stallion help Ranma on his noble quest. "So, shall we be off?"
Ranma nodded his head. "Yes. I guess so." Smirking slightly he said, "Otherwise, I ain't never gonna get rid of this damned curse."
Deedlit smiled back at Ranma. "Well, then, follow me, brave knight!"
Ranma blinked. "I'm not a knight. Just a monk."
"Oh." Deedlit said. Shrugging her shoulders, Deedlit said, "Well, you're still a fighter, and that's what counts!" Then she mentally added, "Besides the length of your 'little Ranma'..." Deedlit giggled again.
And so, Deedlit began to lead Ranma through the Southern Forest of Strawberry Field.
