Soun, however, had no qualms about acting irrationally. Going right to his Demon Head Technique, he yelled, "NO! I CANNOT ACCEPT THIS! RANMA MUST MARRY AKANE AND CARRY ON THE SCHOOLS OF ANYTHING GOES!"
Hearing that, Genma gained his wits, his mind once again going straight to Nerima logic... Where, it doesn't matter what is right, what matters is what YOU wanr. "Soun's right! It doesn't matter if you have a paper! You're just an alien skunk-thingy! You're not human!"
Ranma frowned. He didn't want to be married just yet, but his father was acting totally unreasonable.
Asrial narrowed her eyes, her hand shaking in anger as she reached for her blaster holster. "What... Did... You... Call... Me?"
"YOU HEARD SAOTOME!" The Demon Headed Soun yelled. "THERE IS NO WAY WE WILL ALLOW RANMA TO MARRY SOME CHEAP, ALIEN-"
*BLAM*!!!
And with that, Asrial's blaster had punctured the illusion, changing Soun back to his true form of a pathetic human. Soun and Genma were on their hands and knees faster than one could blink. They were bowing and scraping before the Salusian Princess. "WAAAH! I'M SORRY! PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!" Soun wailed, tears streaming from the corners of his eyes.
"YES!" Genma called out. "JUST DON'T HURT US!!!"
Akane's eye twitched. "And you two call yourselves men!?"
Ranma nodded his head to Akane's questioning, as he saw the idiots continue to whimper and bow before Asrial. Turning to the Salusian Princess, Ranma asked, "Asrial, I still want to know. How is it me marrying you will help you."
"I was wondering that myself." Nabiki commented.
Asrial let out a sigh. "It starts with my father, King Jerka, ruler of the Salusian Empire. He was arrested for fraud and tax evasion."
Ranma blinked. "You have to pay taxes?"
"Yes." Asrial said. "Just because we're royalty, does not mean we get out of paying taxes to the Salusian Conglomerate. We have to pay, just like everyone else."
"Well, that sucks." Nabiki said.
"Um, Miss Asrial," Kasumi began, "But what does your father's arrest have to do with Ranma?"
Asrial sighed. "You see, there's stupid clause in Salusian rule, that makes it so my mother, Queen Shiva, cannot rule alone. And I am now faced with a window of forty-eight hours to do one of two things to retain my familiy's claim to the throne of the Salusian Empire."
"So, you stand to lose everything?" Ranma asked. Seeing Asrial nod, he said, "That's too bad."
"Hold it." Nabiki said. "You said there are two things you can do to preserve your family's rule. What are the options?"
Sighing, Asrial said, "My first option is to go out and find my brother, Kalen, and hopefully, be able to talk him into being reinstated as Prince of Salusia, so that he can take our father's place as ruler." Asrial sighed. "But he and father had a bad falling out. They rarely speak to each other and do not see eye-to-eye. There is no way Kalen would do anything to help the Salusian Empire. He wouldn't take the throne for all the grapes in Paris!"
Nodding her head, Nabiki asked. "I take it the other option has to deal with Ranma?"
"Yes." Asrial said. "I'd have to get married and ascend to the throne with my husband."
Ranma blinked his eyes once, then twice. "You want me to rule by your side?" Ranma asked. "Surely there's someone else you could marry. I know you had a thing for that Feeple guy."
Asrial shook her head. "It's not going to happen... Please, Ranma... I need your assistance. Please marry me."
Looking around, Ranma gulped. His father and Mr. Tendo were still blubbering and bowing, Nabiki was just watching on, studying him, Akane was fuming in held-badck anger, Kasumi was surprised...
And there was Asrial with her hopeful eyes.
Ranma let out a sigh. "Why does this stuff always happen to me?"
"OH, THANK YOU!!!"
"Long enough!"
