Smoke and Wind: Final Moves Before Battle [Episode 51318]

by Philip Weigel

Theo blinked as he saw Deem get on a dirty brown cloak. "Dee'em, just what are you doing?"

Dee'em smirked at him, "Why I want all the players in this game at the final place of conflict." Theo was about to say something, when Dee'em held a hand, "Don't say anything. We all want to see just how she's going to take care of this problem, and I shall give her that chance." With that he teleported out.

Theo shook his head, "Well, good luck old friend."

Nabiki scowled, "Just where the hell is he? How hard can it be to find one giant golem?" He then blinked and groaned, "I forgot, this is Ryoga I'm talking about, he could probably slip into the pentagon unnoticed until he had gotten inside." She sighed and continued to walk, hopefully in the direction that Ryoga was heading. After a few minutes she stopped, "Wait a sec? Gawd, I'm so stupid. He's heading for Seer's Hamlet, if I wait there I'll find him."

With that in mind, she took off for the direction of Seer's Hamlet, but then stopped, "I forgot, Seer's Hamlet is on the Eastern Continent, and I'm on the Western Continent. How am I suppost to get there?" She spoke to herself, not expecting an answer.

She got one anyways, as an old and gravelly voice spoke up from behind her, "Excuse me young one, but you seem to be having some problems."

Nabiki gave a startled jump, and turned around, "Don't do that!" She put a hand over her heart, while trying to calm down her breating. As she looked at the figure, she couldn't help but notice how short he was, 'Probably a dwarf.' She couldn't tell any characteristics, because all he was wearing was a dirty brown cloak that concealed all his features.

"So sorry, but you seem to want to get somewhere. May I ask where?"

Nabiki sighed, she didn't know what the harm was allowing someone to know where she was going. "To Seer's Hamlet. But it's on the other continent."

"Ah, yes, mucho problems you have then." The figure reached into his robes. "Here."

Nabiki blinked, "A gate scroll?" She then got suspictious, "Why are you giving it to me? And just where does it lead to?"

The man chuckled, "I suppose that would be a good question. You see, I am a scroll mage, but I am retiring and I thought to give away some of the less dangerous scrolls that I have."

Nabiki blinked, "Oh." 'But I thought mages didn't retire, oh well, don't look a gift's horse in the mouth Nabiki.'

She accepted the scroll, read it and then tossed it onto the ground. A portal opened to Seer's Hamlet and she stepped in and when she was through, it disappeared.

Gniess smirked at Dee'em as he teleported back in, "That was corny. 'I'm a scroll mage that's retiring,' give me a break, you know mages don't retire."

Dee'em just smiled and shrugged his shoulders, "It worked didn't it?"

Theo nodded, "Yes it did." He turned to Bugie, "Are you sure it was wise to allow G'Nolga free reign to Seer's Hamlet?"

Bugie nodded, "Yes, unfortunately she's hurting and killing people left and right as is that young man Ryoga. If we call off everyone from getting in thier way, then there will be less death."

Theo nodded, "I can see your point. I don't like it, but we can't stop them as it stands."

Gniess spoke up, "Especially since we don't know where they are at this moment."

Dee'em frowned, "Why don't we just go and try to stop them once they get to Seer's Hamlet?"

Gniess raised an eyebrow, "You actually want to take on the Sentinel and G'Nolga at the same time? Not to mention that you'd probably be hit with bio-energy."

Theo blinked, "Bio-energy?"

Gniess nodded, "I did a little research on Ki and Chi after Nabiki told us that she welded a cannon onto the shoulder of the Sentinel. Apparently, on the Earth Realm the Ethereal Stream is practially an unknown, just like Jade and the Undead Realms are. Anyway on Earth, there are those that can manipulate their own life-force or bio-energy to do things similar to what we can do with magic."

Theo raised an eyebrow, "Like what?"

Bugie picked it up, "Increase speed, strength, and toughness. Those are the basics, then some can increase healing, senses, gain a danger sense. Then there are those that can fire bio-blasts, become invisible, incorprial, manipulate the elements, teleport and even fly in some cases or at least levetate."

Theo nodded, "Well, at least that explains why Julia was off guard when she sparred against Tanya's husband."

Dee'em then spoke up, "Shall we watch the show? Those that can defeat G'Nolga and the Sentinel are in place at this moment." Everyone nodded, though they were hoping that there would be no more bloodshed.

Nabiki blinked at the barkeep, a transformed dragon, who had a horn on his head and wings sticking out his back. "What do you mean he doesn't live here?"

The barkeep nodded, "That's what I said, Ranma Saotome, who's saved Seer's Hamlet from Bandit gangs and the Bluette that plagued us doesn't live here. He lives in the Retreat."

Nabiki sighed, "Thanks."

The barkeep just looked at her, "You're not planning on going up there are you?"

"Why not?"

"There are reports of G'Nolga heading this way as well as a giant golem. And from all accounts both are after the same thing."

Nabiki sighed and nodded, "I know."

The barkeep shrugged, "Well whatever."

Meanwhile in Atlanta. . .

Brianna chuckled at Penny, "I still can't believe that Charlotte was the only one that could hold Tiffany out of the three of you."

Penny grumbled, "I don't know why she screamed when I held her. Charlie picked her up out of my arms and then Tiffany just calmed right down."

Gina blinked, "Maybe it's because you had those silver arrows at one point and Tiffany somehow knows that."
