The Wild Huntmaster, Lord of the Wild Hunt, Dread Reaper of Souls, King of all Faerie, and holder of a dozen other titles, seethed.
Centuries ago, the situation had seemed simple. Happosai had been old, as old as humans could get, yet showed no real signs of slowing down and succumbing to the ravages of time. Indeed, he was almost hyperactive, like a little kid...a little kid with enough combat skills and experience to overwhelm virtually any competition. Including himself.
At the rate things were going, by the time the old pervert slowed down enough to be beaten, his would-be conqueror be too old for a name change to do him any good. Either that, or Happosai would outlive him completely.
That was unacceptable. So when the ambitious faerie sorceress had come to him with her offer, he'd been tempted enough to take it. Virtually ultimate power, a lifespan that bordered on infinite, and the assumption of the identity of one Ranma Saotome. And of course, he would have to be called something else, because among the faerie, names had power. It was everything he'd wanted and needed...and the only catch had been to name her his queen.
An easy bargain. But even with that, the knowledge of his true name still rankled. And so he rode with the Wild Hunt, in search of the one being who could change it, the source of all his problems. The old pervert could hide, and was hiding extremely well, but he had eternity. And when he was beaten, tortured body and soul as only the faerie could, he WOULD change the Huntmaster's name. The Wild Huntmaster would search all the realms, across the length and breadth of eternity...
...right after he found out what his queen was calling him for.
