In moving about the house she couldn't help but note the whistling sound of high-pitched snoring coming from Nabiki's room and felt a brief pang of worry, but left Nabiki to her rest. When she saw Nabiki next, THEN she'd ask just why Nabiki felt she had to rest in the middle of the day.
It wasn't much longer before Akane arrived at the dojo.
"Kasumi, have you seen Ranma?" she asked. "He was supposed to meet me somewhere, but I haven't seen him anywhere."
"Oh no," Kasumi said. "And don't ask Nabiki, she's sleeping."
"Sleeping..." Akane said, surprised. "This late in the day? Is she feeling all right?"
"I was going to ask her myself," Kasumi said. "When I next saw her."
The day grew long and Ranma continued to appear absent from the area. Genma and Soun arrived from their carousing and moved straight to the game board, but no sign of a pig-tailed martial artist. And no one DARED to rouse Nabiki from bed.
Not on purpose anyway.
"ARRRGGGG!!!" Akane growled stomping through the hall on the way to her room. "Where IS he?!"
Nabiki snapped awake upon hearing that and looked around, noting the failing light.
"Saotome..." she whispered. "Saotome...Ranma..."
"It's too early, let me sleep," the martial artist mumbled.
"Sure if you want to wait for Akane to find us in bed together," Nabiki said harshly. That certainly woke Ranma up.
"Damn it," Ranma snapped, only to be shushed by Nabiki.
"Look," Nabiki said. "We need to get out of here and go somewhere to figure this thing out."
"Figure what out," Ranma asked quietly. "You got us changed into bat-people."
"It was not..." Nabiki paused. "Well, it was a lot my fault, but you bit me."
"Errr, sorry," Ranma muttered.
"Don't worry..." Nabiki said, blushing. "It was kinda parta the wish. Anyway, we're not just bat-people, we're werebats, so we SHOULD be able to change back...so you just sneak us out of here and to some abandoned place and we can...practice, I guess."
