Genma could only gape and leap away in shock. One moment he was sparing with his son, the next his son changes into an aircraft???
Ranma was stunned. Ever since he was a kid he had loved Macross. One evening, when he was 10 years old, he had gone to a classmate’s house to hang out. His pop had gone off to get drunk, again, and he had been bored. Keitaro had been sitting in front of the TV watching some anime series called Macross. Admittedly, he did not know much about anime at the time, so he wasn’t too interested… at first. But then the fights started and he watched planes transform into giant robots. Next day he bought his first Macross manga. He now had the complete series safely hidden away from his fathers prying eyes (“only girls read manga”). He also had a book detailing all the mecha in the series.
And now…. Somehow…. He was one of the flying mecha from that series. He was a VF-19 Excalibur. If he could grin he would have.
“VF-19 Excalibur!!! HELL F#&%ING YEAH!!!!” With a blast of air he took to the sky like a fish to water, performing aerobatics and whooping in shear joy. He did every maneuver he had ever read about and even invented a few. Flying near the ground he when into GERWALK mode and skimmed across the rooftops.
“BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA… achooo”
All good things come to an end. Suddenly Ranma was human again, 10 feet above the ground while traveling at 100 mph. “This is gonna hurt,” he whimpered. And it did.
Meanwhile, someone else had caught the cold……
