Akane had at first been angry about it. As more and more of the fiancee brigade began showing up, it became more and more obvious that he was not "hanging around with those floozies."
Nabiki dismissed Akane's concerns. They would have heard the fight if some challenger had come out of nowhere.
The fathers didn't worry until dinner was ready and still no Ranma. Ranma missing dinner? This was serious.
On the third day, the package arrived.
(Normally Furries 4 U didn't require that much time, but apparently Ranma had some serious issues.)
"Ranma bought you a present three days ago before he vanished, eh?" Nabiki said aloud as she read the attached card. "A pet? Awfully big one from the size of the package."
"Ranma did something thoughtful. How out of character," commented Kasumi as she opened the package.
The "figure out where Ranma could be" crowd (currently meeting to see if anyone could figure out what had happened) paused in their activity (having concluded that it must have been something that Genma had done and trying to figure out if it was a new fiancee or something) to watch.
Slowly and hesitantly something began pushing its way out. Reddish fur was obvious at first, then the "fan-shaped" ears went erect. Finally and with much obvious concern, the figure climbed out of the box.
Short, even shorter than Ranma's cursed form, the humanoid mouse had a wiry physique that looked to be athletic muscle all over. He was wearing a pair of overalls and a thin pair of glasses perched themselves on his nose.
Everyone stood (or sat) in stunned silence as the mouseboy knelt before Kasumi with his head lowered and his long tail settling in around him. "Mistress, I am your pet. I am a good housekeeper and I like to read. My name is "
