Ranma Brigand-Diggers: Phenotype Found [Episode 53388]

by Red Priest of the 17th Order

"Yes, please." Julia said. "I am rather curious and would like to find out if I am from earth."

"All right." Gina said. The Gold Digger looked a little hesitant at the moment. "Mom, I'll need a blood sample."

Julia rolled her eyes. "All right, all right..." Leaning over to the side of her boot, Julia took out a small dagger, and held small dagger's blade to the back of her left hand...

"MOM! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" Gina screamed.

Stopping what she was doing, Julia looked at her daughter. "What? You said you needed a blood sample, didn't you?"

"I don't need it that way!" Gina yelled. Taking a moment to breathe deeply, Gina calmed herself. "Just put your dagger away and hold out one of your hands.

Julia shrugged, but did as her daughter asked. This was her area of expertise, after all. She held out her hand and watched as her daughter gathered a a tube of gel, a band-aide box, pretri dish, a box of cotton-swabs, and Gina held out some sort of metallic device that looked like a stapler. "Gina, what is that?"

"This is more commonly known as a 'pin-prick'." Gina said. "It's used for getting tiny blood samples to search for diseases, and check sugar levels for those with diabetes. It will basically give us a small sample of your blood to work with." Holding onto her mother's wrist, Gina said, "Hold still."

Julia did so, letting her daughter do what she needed. Julia didn't wince as she felt a small needle jab into and right back out of her finger. She frowned a little. "That kind of stings."

Gina held the device back, and saw her mother's finger bleeding a little. She took the cotton swab and started to gather blood from her bother's finger. She placed the blood onto the petri dish, gathering bit by bit until she felt she had enough to begin testing. She then went to use the tube of anti-bacterial solution to clean her mother's finger, and then covered the area with a band-aide

Julia raised an eyebrow as she saw the band-aide on her finger. "Pink bunnies?"

Chuckling slightly, Gina said, "Sorry. Only band-aides I had on hand were those."

Julia rolled her eyes. "All right."

Gina held the petri dish in her hands carefully. She walked over to a large computer with an attachment that looked a little like a microwave. Even had a hinged door and a rotating plate in the center. Gina pressed a few buttons and then it was ready.

Gina looked over to her mother. "Okay mom. I have the program running. But please, don't get your hopes up. There's a very good chance that we won't have much with results. I mean, we don't know if you came from earth or-"

*DING*!

"Phenotype found!" a mechanical voice echoed through the lab.

Blinking her eyes once, then twice, Gina said, "That... That was fast..."

A smile came to Julia's face. "I KNEW I must have been from earth. I just had this feeling once Mumsey helped me remember."

And so, Gina and Julia walked over to the computer screen, to see what match was given.

Phenotype: Japanese

Julia blinked her eyes once, then twice. "I'm Japanese!?"

"You certainly don't LOOK Japanese." Gina quipped, rather surprised.

Julia looked at Gina. "Are you SURE this is right?"

Gina nodded her head. "I just went over a diagnostic of my entire lab earlier this month, and just finished last week. I know evertyhing is in order."

Julia chuckled a little, almost in disbelief. "I can't believe this... I'm Japanese..."
