Wild Childe: Playing it Loud [Episode 53477]

by Mister-E

(Based on a Pages of Life Crossover Idea)

The sensation of flying across a city. Words could not describe it.

Even if the loss of contact with the ground was via mallet. However, that was as planned.

Ranma had been sent airborne from Akane’s mallet so many times it was natural that he’d gain some resistance to it. And he was currently using it as a method of travel to where his ‘group’ met up.

Since he met his old friends from his days at Junior High after the failed wedding he had been going over to meet them almost daily as they resumed their ‘activities.’ Although this had his fiancées in a fit, since they knew nothing of what he was doing. Insuring none of them found him was difficult, but possible. And he always lost them along the way.

As he began to return to earth he mused about another way to lose them, Akane Air. It still hurt a bit going up as did the landing, but with the proper manipulation he could control the direction and arc he’d travel at. He could see he’d end up at a park close to where he needed to be.

Perfect.

He made his usual crater upon impact. Three feet deep, ten feet across, like a bowl in the ground. Getting up he double checked for injuries and seeing none walked to the street, feeling somewhat relaxed as cars went by, one of which hit a puddle. The puddle was there for no reason, it hadn’t rained in a week yet the puddle was there just so a car could hit it and soak him, changing he into a she. Grumbling he, or rather she, adjusted her pant’s drawstring and carried on her way, entering an abandoned gas station and into what used to be the garage. As she began to say hello warm water was poured over her head, and he looked to his left as his gender was reverted to male. He smiled at the pourer.

“Thanks Bell, I needed that.”

The goddess of the present smiled back. “Your welcome Ranma. I just had a feeling.”

He nodded then walked over to a man nearby. “S’up Keiichi?”

“Nothing much Ranma, we just needed you to get here, as always.”

Ranma nodded and looked over the other occupants in the room, Hotaru Tomoe, Hikaru Shidou and Tenchi Masaki. With the exception of Belldandy the room were members of a band they named ‘Wild Childe’. Himself and Hikaru as Lead Guitar and Lead Vocals, Hotaru on the Keyboard and as the Female Backup Vocal, Tenchi as the Drummer and Male Backup Vocal and lastly Keiichi on Bass Guitar, although he sometimes played other instruments, as the song required. Each of them... were somewhat odd. As they were like family to each other they let their individual secrets and alternate identities be known to each other.

Himself, the cursed super-powered cursed martial artist, with more fiancées and rivals than you could shake a stick at.

Hotaru, Sailor Saturn and the ‘Bringer of the Silence. To her Ranma was the big brother she always wanted. To him Hotaru was the little sister he never had.

Keiichi, boyfriend of a goddess, and has two ‘live in goddess’ by the names of Skuld and Urd, Belldandy’s sisters. They were buddies and good friends.

Tenchi, his best friend in the group, mainly because they shared a problem, too many suitors! However where as he had martial artist after him, Tenchi had aliens from another planet, as well as being an alien prince to boot.

Lastly Hikaru, Magic Knight of another world alongside Umi and Fuu, her best friends. Their relationship to them seemed to be ‘really good friends’ but was truly a case of ‘they have the HUGEST crushes on each other, but don’t know it/won’t admit it’.

Together as Wild Childe they operated in one town, away from Nermia and Juuban (To avoid the usual oddness/weirdness) and were semi-famous and rather successful. They weren’t millionaires by any standard, but from their wages each could easily pay their way into any college. They played at bars, parties, small raves, and a few other places. Although who they told their ‘Musical Life’ to was rather... selective.

Ranma told only Kasumi and Doctor Tofu, both could be trusted to help and not mention it. If any of his fiancées knew... he was sure the result wouldn’t be good. Ditto for his rivals. And Soun. And his Father. He didn’t know what his mother would make of it though.

Hotaru only told Chibi-Usa about her activities, and no one else. Setsuna might have known, but she was sure Hakura and Michiru didn’t. They wondered what her ‘activities’ were, but so far hadn’t pried, although Hakura looked as if she’d be trying soon enough.

Tenchi only told his grandfather, Sasami and Washu. Washu helped him by teleporting him into the Gas Station, where they would practice their music. This kept Ryoko and Ayeka off him for a while, although if they found out, he was sure the end result would be bad.

Keiichi only told Belldandy, who always came along with him, acting as support for the group, as well as doing minor tasks and such. Since Keiichi and Belldandy were spending a lot of time with each other and not at the temple, Urd took it upon herself to keep Skuld in check, and lead her on wild goose chases if she tried and follow them/disturb them.

And Hikaru only told Umi and Fuu, who sometimes managed to help out, or even attend concerts they played in. Their varying schedules meant they couldn’t always help out, but they were always on hand when they could be, often trying to ‘nudge’ Hikaru and Ranma to spend time together (Hint, Hint, Nudge, Nudge). Her brothers tried to find out what she was doing, but Hikaru had so far managed to keep them from knowing her musical affairs.

Ranma let himself stretch a bit before addressing the group. “Alright then, who’s got the song we’re gonna play?”

“Right here Oniichan.” Hotaru walked over to him and handed him some papers with the song with lyrics and note on it for on stage playing.

“OK, let’s get things set up then so we can start practice. We got that concert tonight, right?”

“You got it Ran.” Hikaru said, using her one-of-a-kind nickname for Ranma.
