Chun-Li wasn't too sure about accepting this invitation. From her days with Interpol, she knew about the Talon family, and knew they were bad news. But... the school could really use that money. And she was confident that she could win any tournament she needed to!
But the last thing she expected was for someone to recognize her on the plane. "Chun-Li, right?" A female voice asked in Japanese.
Chun-Li blinked. The young woman who sat down next to her seemed vaguely familiar. Short brown hair, and an athletic build... the white headband tickled a memory, but she couldn't place her... "Excuse me, have we met?"
The woman grinned knowingly. "Imagine me about one head shorter, and wearing a sailor fuku."
Chun-Li blinked. "Sakura Kasugano?"
"Yep. I know we only met in passing, but it's nice to see a familiar face here."
"You were invited to this too?"
Sakura nodded. "Yep! I'm almost through college, and want to start getting back into the tournaments now that I can. So when this invitation came, I wasn't about to say no."
"Ah, I see." Chun-Li debated whether or not to ask her next question, but finally relented to curiosity. "So... did you ever catch up to Ryu?"
Sakura's face stilled. "Please... don't mention that name." Sakura replied through clenched teeth.
Chun-Li blinked. Well, that was new...

Meanwhile, another plane was heading toward the island with another pair of interesting girls for the tournament.
The smaller girl was dressed truly inappropriately, with a long overcoat and a hood covering most her body. She seemed to radiate hostility... which was only natural. She didn't want to be there.
Cammy White could think of many, many things she could be doing than going to some tournament. Ex-Shadoloo assassin, and Ex-MI6 "Delta Red" agent, Cammy had been rendered a fugitive from all sides after learning the truth about her past. Since that point she'd been living as best she could, using all her skills to keep herself hidden from the various agencies, organizations, and other hunters that wanted to cash in on the 'Killer Bee.'
At least, until a week ago, when some how, someone called Erwin Talon found her, and threatened to expose her... unless she agreed to participate in this event.
Cammy wasn't a fool. She knew that it was all ready too late the moment she received the notice. But she couldn't just hide again... not until she learned how this 'Talon' found her the last time.
And so she found herself being whisked away to some tropical island, and hopefully, to some answers.
Now... if only her traveling companion wasn't so... so...
"Ohh! This is soooo exciting! Do you think they'll have a movie? And peanuts? Oh, I love honey roasted peanuts! I wish peanuts grew around my home village, but, of course, they can't. But that's okay! We've got plenty of other good things to eat around there! And of course nothing beats watching the sun set over the plains... Oh! Look! Birds!"
...So damned perky.
Elena noticed the smaller woman grumble a bit and try to ignore her. But this only strengthened the resolve of the perpetually happy fighter. She would get her new friend to relax and enjoy herself before the tournament ended!
Cammy, of course, was promising herself that if Elena didn't shut up soon... only one of them would be leaving the plane alive...
