While the daimon could be properly mean and villainous from normal daimon eggs, some (like Doorknobu) lacked certain qualities to make them proper "monsters of the week".
Mimette had determined that not only did the object used to shape the daimon have an influence on the personality and powers of the daimon - the egg could be influenced by other factors prior to it "infecting" an item. With Mimette's adding of two drops of medication that she'd been issued for Bipolar Disorder (it wasn't like she was using it for anything else and she'd accidently added the whole bottle to Batch#665 of the Professor's Daimon Eggs - it was two drops worth that had ended up in Defective's test tube.)
