The late-adolescent female human said something in Japanese and looked slightly dismayed.
The human female with the shifty-looking gaze seemed to consider something and replied in the same language.
The human male glared disapprovingly at her, then concealed himself behind a newspaper. As it was written in Japanese, and the date was likely lost in the folds, it did not resolve the mystery.
The panda (an obvious clue to the simulation's lack of reality) sat there and occasionally waved a sign around on which there was scrawled Japanese.
T'pol was about to consider going and standing out in the yard due to the odor of fur and human habitation without sufficient hygiene when one of the humans actually reached out and tugged on her ear!!
T'pol looked at the human and decided that there was definitely something Ferengi about the human's attitude. "(I would not recommend doing that again.)"
The Ferengi-souled sat back and considered her. "(So, you're some kind of elf girl?)"
"(I am Vulcan, not that I expect you to understand what that means,)" said T'pol.
"(Yeah right, and I'm Captain of the Enterprise,)" responded Nabiki.
"(Captain Archer is the Captain of Enterprise,)" cooly replied T'pol.
"(Captain Kirk is the captain on 'Star Trek', and frankly you are no Mister Spock.)" Nabiki shot back.
"(I do not know a Captain Kirk, nor a ship named 'Star trek', nor anyone named Spock.)" T'pol raised an eyebrow. "(This simulation is getting wearisome, but at least your English is better than your sister's.)"
"(Your games are getting wearisome, and English is a major language of the business world,)" said Nabiki. "(So you're T'pol and you were engaged to Ranma by some arrangement with his grandfather?)"
"(I know of no such arrangement,)" replied T'pol. "(Nor am I interested in this 'Ranma'.)"
"(Really? No pon farr yet?" Nabiki shot back then watched as the girl was visibly surprised.
"(How do you know about such things? They are not spoken of with outsiders.)" T'pol managed. Vulcans would never reveal such details willingly. Had a Vulcan gone into pon farr while surrounded by humans?
"(This charade has gone on far enough,)" said Nabiki, reaching out and tugging at an ear. "(Wait a minute. A pulse? They're real?)"
T'pol reached out and lightly massaged Nabiki's shoulder. Nabiki's face splatted into her bowl of miso soup.
"(Oh wow. A Vulcan nerve pinch! Cool!)"
T'pol raised an eyebrow as the boy from earlier sat down next to her. "(Excuse me?)"
"(Hi, I'm Ranma Saotome. Do you know any Vulcan or Klingon martial arts?)" Ranma asked, enthused about something.
"(I am somewhat familiar with the weapons and fighting styles of both Klingons, Vulcans, Andorians, and a number of other species,)" admitted T'pol.
