Blast to the Past: In the mind of the watcher [Episode 55677]

I know. I’ve been watching them for twelve and a half minutes now. The couch is a good place to watch the kitchen. You can see the TV, and outside, and the dining room, too. You can’t see all the kitchen, but you can see most of it in the reflection off of the mirror down the hall. It’s a bit weird to look at, but I’ve practiced.

They’ve been sitting there for ten minutes and… nineteen- seconds. I’ve been watching the clock to make sure I know how long. The miso soup’s been boiling over for about a seven minutes. I didn’t notice when it first started, but I don’t think it was boiling when Daddy came upstairs.

He’s in his room. I heard him come up… thirteen minutes ago. He stood outside my door, and then stood outside ‘kane’s door, and then stood outside his own door. Then he went in, and hasn’t come out. He does that a lot. I think he wants to come in, and say things and do things and give hugs, but he doesn’t. Well, he did a couple times. Not lately, though.

Akane’s still in her room. Maybe I should check to see if she’s still in there. I’ll go do that in…four minutes. She’ll probably say something stupid though, and then get mad that she’s wrong. Then Kasumi’ll try to get us to shut up, and than Daddy’ll come in and be Daddy for a bit, but then he’ll go back to his room.

Maybe he thinks he’s bad because he can’t be Daddy, and so he’s sending himself to his room, and only comes out when he can be Daddy.

Kasumi’s getting a hug. She’s been getting a hug for the whole time they’ve been sitting there.
