Broken Hearted Cheetah: Plan by Phone [Episode 56066]

by Red Priest of the 17th Order

The Saotome Estate was a traditional Japanese mansion and garden, as it was built way back in Japan's Feudal Era, for back then the Saotome Family were honorable Samurai, (which makes one wonder how Genma came to be). And while most would think the house to be the utter definition of Traditional Japanese society, it turns out that this is not the case.

Yes, Nodoka DID keep the house looking like one huge museum piece, with a few bits of modern technology here and there, (mostly in thge kitchen, as it made cooking MUCH easier) there was one room in the house that looked as though it were from modern day.

While Genma had taken Ranma out on the training trip, Nodoka had literally had one room converted into an office-space for herself. True, she did not go out to work, as it was more 'proper' for a 'traditional' Japanese wife to stay at home, but that didn't mean she would limit herself totally to her role. Hell no!

And so, to keep in touch with the outside world, Nodoka literally had one of the many guest rooms converted into an office. Having electrical wiring and then phone and cable line run through that area of the house, Nodoka had taken steps to start to modernize the rest of the house. But right now, only one room was 'updated'. Her little office. There she had a large corner desk, a computer with cable modem, telephone with headset, fax-machine, file cabinets, and a little television set up for herself.

And if one wonders how Nodoka paid for all this, one had to remember this. Nodoka did come froma family of money herself, (it was one of the reasons Genma had married her.. Okay, it was THE reason to marry her). So money was not an issue for Nodoka at all.

And right now, with her equipment and money, Nodoka was busy trying to set up the most absolutely perfect date for her manly son, and her rather nice houseguest... Who Nodoka would not mind having as a daughter-in-law in the slighest.

"Hello, Mr. Shinoka." Nodoka spoke into her headset as she was typing on her computer. "I am looking at the website of your nice restaurant, the Fujikora, and I see that it specializes in fish. Do you think you can set up a reservation for two at 9:00 pm? I want them to have a PRIVATE booth, and let them order as MUCH as they want. Don't worry. You can charge EVERYTHING to my account. Thank you, and good day."

Nodoka moved a hand and pressed a button on the telephone, disconnecting the headset from the line she was speaking too. One might wonder why she had set up dinner for them so late, but she had her reasoning. She was then checking show-times for available movies on the internet at the nearest movie theater. She then started to talk into her head-set once it was set up.

"Hello, may I speak to the manager of Tokyo Cinema 1 to 30. Ah, I am speaking to her. I would like to rent one of the theaters for 5 pm. Yes, tonight if possible. No, don't worry, money is no object in this case. Huh? Oh! What movie? Well, I would like you to show something rather romantic. Think you can give them a private screening of Jame's Cameron's 'Titanic'? Really? Excellent! You can send the bill to my credit card. Thank you again."

Nodoka moved a hand and pressed a button on the telephone, disconnecting the headset from the line she was speaking too. Once she head the dial tone again, Nodoka went back to typing, seeing what there was. She smiled and moved one hand back to the telephone pad.

"Hello, I would like to speak fo the manager of the Emporia hotel. Yes, I'll hold." Nodoka waited a moment, as she surfed the net for a few things. "Yes, hello, my name is Nodoka Saotome. I want to know if you have a room available. OH? Yes, the Honeymoon Suite will be perfectly fine. The large bed and bathtub will do nicely. What? Oh, yes, you can leave a complimentary box of condoms, but make sure you have someone put a hole in each one... Yes, I am serious! Yes, I will pay extra for that, but you better include some bath beads for the heart-shaped bathtub! All right, thank you."

Nodoka smiled. She was rather pleased with herself. But still, it felt like something was misssing...

"Oh my goodness! Transportation! I can't have them walk around Tokyo between these places!" Nodoka exclaimed. And once again, the Saotome Matriarch was back to her typing. She smiled as she found a place that seemed as though it could work out. Extending one hand to once again type in a phone number, Nodoka was talking into her headset once more. "Hello, Mishima Motor Group and Rentals. I need a limousine and driver for tonight. And I need him here by 4 pm, no later. Yes, I can pay, not to worry. Just make sure you have the driver and limousine here at 4 pm. What? Oh, what color do I want? Black is alays professional looking. Thank you."

Sitting back in her chair, Nodoka smiled. She had planned out the transportation, entertainment, meal, and retirement for the evening for her son and his lady-friend. "Oh I do hope this all pans out well. I so want to be a grandmother!"

And once more, Nodoka thought about the possibility of cute little cheetah-like grandchildren. "Oh, they'd be so adorable! I want kawaii grandchildren now!"

Downstairs, Ranma and Britanny were have a simultaneous sneezing fit.
