Rock didn't normally have a problem fighting girls. He had seen and fought against way too many to have that hang-up. Hotaru was also normally even less of a concern, seeing as she was primarily pacifistic, and preferred other solutions than fighting. Normally, Hotaru and Rock wouldn't have any reason to fight each other.

Rock, however, had never been face to face with the Angry Girlfriend situation. And he quickly learned the frightening truth: the Angry Girlfriend always wins...
"Where IS HE?!" Hotaru screamed as she struck Rock again.
"I SWEAR, OW! TO GOD HOTARU, OW! I HAVE NO, OW! CLUE WHERE RANMA IS! OW! STOP BEATING ON ME! OW!!!"
Hotaru paused a moment. "No." And hit Rock again.

Jae shook his head. "I don't know. But it's worse than it looks. Rugal is like Akuma was in that last fight, pouring of power. Ranma had Iori with him at the start of the fight, but Rugal took him out with one blow... and I'd swear he used the Shun Goku Satsu to do it."
Rock swore. "Even if we left right away, we would never get there in time to help. It looks like Ranma's on his own..."
