"Dr. Kisaragi survived by his daughter Honey Kisaragi and niece Ayaka Kisaragi. Hmm. I didn't know that Miss Ayaka had a cousin."
As if saying her name summoned her, the red haired president of Phantom Quest Corp. Staggered out of the bathroom. Mamoru looked up and sighed.
"Miss Ayaka, did you have an uncle that was a scientist?"
Ayaka Kisaragi blinked a bit at that question. "Y-yes? Why do you ask?"
Mamoru tossed the paper at her with the obit report showing. Ayaka paled as she read the report.
"Th-that's not possible," she stammered.
"People die all the time," Mamoru said.
Ayaka continued, ignoring Mamoru. "She's dead. Honey is dead. I saw the accident that killed her."
"What?!" the twelve year old Mamoru blurted out. "Are you sure?"
Ayaka stared off in the distance recalling the incident. "We were like sisters. We did everything together. We were at the beach diving when a gust of wind and a large wave caused a sailboat to dump its passengers and send the boat into the back of my cousin's head. I still hear the crack and see the pool of red."
Tears fell Ayaka Kisargi's face as she related the incident. "We never did find the body. My uncle went into science right after that and me...."
"You started drinking heavily," Mamoru said.
"Yes."
Mamoru looked at the paper in Ayaka's hands. "Are you going to investigate?"
Ayaka stared at him. "That was a stupid question. Of course I am. I need to get to the bottom of this."
