But he could never have done it alone. There were those who fought right along side him, and were the ones who carried out the plans and strategies that gave people a fighting chance. Out of those folk, the one closest to him, and the one that meant the most to him. That was a simple matter as she was his wife, as well as being his second-in-command.
She was responsible for many things that had blocked the SkyNet's victory. Not only because of her being very capable in following his orders. With her training, some of the humans had become capable of fighting a Terminator in personal combat. Even those who didn't get to that level profited from the extra boost to their skills, such as the ability to move out of a weapon's sight faster. Plus, she was the one person that he could go to for comfort and be a person with.
Though if one were to tell her all that at the time just before she was to meet John Conner, she would yell that she was a guy after pounding the one who said it to the floor.
For the one who was destined to meet, marry and become the partner of the nearest thing to a 'messiah' that humanity would have was named... Ranma Saotome.
Now, Ranma knew nothing of the future that was waiting for her, er... him... whatever. As far as the Heir to the Saotome sytle knew, he had to deal with two arranged fiancees, a 'wife' and an obsessed girl along side rivals, challenges and whatever was going to pop up from the past this week. But his immediate concern was what had brought him to California in the first place.
It was another family outing, but this time in the form of a vacation. Due to some rather chance events, they had won a trip out of the country. The Tendos and the Saotomes had a choice of going to three places. New Zeland had been experiencing some bad weather, Hawaii was what Principal Kuno was obsessed with (other than hair and disipline), so that left California. And for the most part, things were going pretty nice.
Nabiki was out buying things like blue jeans, and Kasumi was just enjoying herself. The fathers were seeing the lack of fiancees as a sign that they should 'hint' rather broadly and insistantly that Ranma should take akane and do things like go out for a romantic walks upon the boardwalk. And Akane was learning that her English was not that good.
But at that moment Ranma was walking along the beach in female form, just enjoying the solitude. It was nice to be alone for a little while, especially after that incident at the airport when they were leaving. (Nabiki really shouldn't have sold the departure time.) It was nice and quiet with only a few people around.
So she just wandered around a bit while:
