Tatewaki Kuno was a moron.
Tatewaki Kuno also knew that when everyone from Kasumi to the chef Ukyo stated the same thing - that Hikaru Gosunkugi had stumbled across true magic and used it to turn Akane into his adoring pet - that there might be something to it.
Upon seeing the fierce tigress-girl wearing a collar and leash and nothing else, Hikaru Gosunkugi, and what was clearly a demon, it all clicked in his head.
Clearly the fiend was Saotome's true master all along! The fiend would now go after the pigtailed girl and likewise transform her. This could not be borne!
"FIEND! RELEASE AKANE FROM YOUR SPELL!"
