K' was definitely regretting getting up today. His joints ached from all the movement, his body was bruised from the beating he'd been giving. And worse... when he did manage to land a move on Rugal, the maniac didn't even seem to notice!
He might feel a full powered Heat Drive, K' decided, but I would never get the chance to power it up.
Rugal again threw a Kaiser Wave, but K' easily avoided it with the Blackout. Unfortunately, that meant he ended up in just the right spot to be hit with Rugal's Total Annihilation.
K' wearily got back to his feet. Another attack like that, and he was done for. I'm sorry, Kula... he thought as Rugal stalked over to him. It would take a miracle to save him.
"SHINKUU BUSTAA WOLF!!" One Miracle, coming up...
K' watched as Ranma leapt back into the fight. Unlike his foster father's attack, Ranma's version of the Buster Wolf didn't just blast the victim away. Using the same 'Vacuum' effect that many other fighters use, the Shinkuu Buster Wolf didn't knock its victim away until all its energy was spent.
The result threw Rugal over a dozen feet and through a small building.
K' smiled and limped over to Ranma. "I thought you said you needed five minutes, Bogard."
Ranma looked like he could have used the extra time, but gave a cocky grin anyway. "Yeah, well, I figured that if I didn't save your sorry ass now, I wouldn't have the pleasure of seeing Kula kill you later."
K' winced at the thought of what his lover was going to do to him for leaving her behind. "Yeah, well, not before I see what Hotaru does to you, Bogard."
This time Ranma winced. "He's not gone, you know."
K' nodded. "Yeah, I figured. Say, how DID you manage to beat Akuma when he was like this?"
"Whatever the powers those two use," Ranma said, "They ain't compatible. Akuma's own powers were ripping him apart faster than I ever could. Rugal's goin' the same way, but it's taking him a whole lot longer..."
"That's because Rugal's used to having Orochi blood, and Akuma wasn't." That was said by another weary voice, from behind the pair. Turning, they saw Iori, a mass of bruises, but up and willing, again.
"Damn, Iori, you're just too stupid to know when to quit, aren't you?" Ranma said with a smile.
Iori looked at Ranma incredulously. "Pot, this is the Kettle," he said, "You are black."
All three laughed at that. Then they stopped as with a thunderous cry, Rugal tore free from the rubble.
All laughter aside, they resumed their fighting stances.
God Rugal was coming.
