To tread where no light can penetrate.
To slaughter our enemies.
To shed our blood for the betterment of our brothers.
We are the swift hand of vengeance for the Elder Caste.
We are the Warrior Caste.
The Clan shall see us through.
The warrior's code of the Wererat Clan. A haunting poem that echoes through the minds of all wererats born into the warrior caste of their culture. It is they who perform the grunt-work of the clan. They are the ones that perform the darkest deeds; assassination their forte. The are trained from youth to fight and to know to lay down their lives for the clan... For lord High Elder Gothrain.
And such is Kage, the black-furred wererat who was leader of the Warrior Caste. Born into the Warrior Caste of the Wererat Clan, he had ascended through the ranks, through sheer determination, skill, treachery, and intellect. All aspects highly prized by the Wererat Clan.
And, as such, Kage is actually one of the eldest Warriors at age 56. After all, he has yet to be killed performing his work in the name of the Elders, (quite a rarity, rest assured). He has not failed in any of his missions yet...
"And I will be damned before I let some god-damned novices in our Caste show me up...." Kage thought bitterly. He was in animal form, that of a large black rat, at the moment. He was surveying along the river and realized that it had gone into a canal. It took him time, but he came to the realization that the two females had to be alive. After all, the stench of death Kage was far too used to was not lingering in the air.
True, Kage knew that he had literally stabbed one of the girls right through the chest, but he wasn't willing to rest until he found her dead body. After all, Kage knew of many a members of the Warrior Caste who were punished severely for failure, because they had assumed they completed a mission, even without proof. And that was a trait of Kage the elders of the clan love. He always made sure he got his job done.
"I'll give you this, girls..." Kage thought. "This is the longest chase I've been on in awhile... But I'll find you..."
And so, Kage skittered along. He knew that, unlike a lot of others of his Caste, he'd have time to hunt. After all, he was a respected member of the Warrior Caste, being the oldest living member. He knew that the others would grant him time to finish his job. He had served faithfully and always successfully accomplished his missions. They could afford to turn a blind eye.
"Of course, now they'll think me some rank ametuer..." Kage growled. Having to take extra time to hunt his target. How humiliating that is for the wererat warrior. Oh well, he'd make sure to take it out of their hides. "OH, I cannot wait to find them..."
And so the rat skittered along Nerima back alleys and streets, every intention to find and eliminate the targets oif the wererat clan.
