"Nabiki!" Kasumi gasped as she pointed at her younger sister. "Your hair!"
"AHH!! My daughter is becoming a monster!" Soun wailed.
"What's wrong with my hair," Nabiki asked. Even as she spoke, she was sweating as if it were the middle of summer. Her hair was already bleaching out into a pure white. She looked at her hands. "Am I turning blue?"
"Son-in-law," Cologne snapped. "Hold Miss Tendo and use a the soul of ice."
"Huh?" Ranma asked, flushing brightly.
"What great grandmother talking!?" Shampoo demanded.
"You want that pervert to do WHAT with my sister?" Akane demanded. As she snapped, Nabiki blinked and dazedly collapsed to the ground. "Nabiki!"
"It's so hot..." Nabiki gasped, blinking. Kasumi rushed to her side and put a hand to Nabiki's forward but snatched it back quickly?
"Does she have a fever?" Akane asked worriedly.
"No she's..." Kasumi started.
"Cold, Miss Tendo is becoming one of the snow fae," Cologne said. "And it is a little hot for her right now. When she is finished transforming her powers will carry winter around with her and she'll be fine, but she has to survive to that point first. Son-in-law, if you please."
"Right," Ranma said quickly, focussing on the soul-of-ice and encircling Nabiki. Instantly he felt a slight drain on his soul chi, but Nabiki's breathing became easier.
"Why aren't we running from Nabiki?" Genma asked. "You had us run from the Master."
"Saotome!" Soun declared, wailing. "How dare you suggest we abandon my baby!?!"
"Because the snow fae are not inherently opposed to humanity," Cologne said. "Now, as Miss Tendo adapts to her new status, I must reiterate to everyone not to eat anything until absolutely necessary."
"We'll starve!" Genma protested.
"I said unless absolutely necessary," Cologne said. "We need to find a way out of this realm."
"How do you know there is a way out?" Ranma asked, still holding onto the mostly unconscious Nabiki.
"The box," Kasumi said. "The box. It had Ranma's picture on it."
"And it was from ten thousand years ago," Cologne agreed.
"So we're all going to escape into Earth ten thousand years ago?" Akane said, sounding surprised.
"Or at least Ranma," Cologne agreed. "It may be that none of us will escape before needing to drink or eat before we got out."
She smirked.
"We could very well find ourselves the basis for some of the pantheons of our history," Cologne said.
"Umm," Ranma said. "Something's coming out of Nabiki's back."
"Those would be wings," Cologne said. "There should be four, like an insect's, perhaps you should turn around and hold her from the front while they grow."
