Stunt piloting was one thing, but these guys were good. Misato herself was not nearly that level of skill, she'd mainly made use of NERV pilots when she had been alive.
Misato shuddered and hugged herself, a flashback to her time as red goo enough to make her want to throw up or scream or something.
It reminded her of an old Harlan Ellison story she'd read as a Middle School assignment. "I have no mouth and I must scream" or something like that.
Being part of one great collective pile of goo, losing all your individuality as it was revealed that the vast majority of people were idiots and that mobs were worse and what you had there in that red tide was sort of the world's largest mob. Once one mind went insane, it spread throughout the ocean of humanity. One mind, unable to move, unable to reason, just screaming and screaming and...
Misato took a deep breath to steady herself. That was then. This was now. She wasn't going back. Not only no but hell no.
She wanted to find this Ranma and become one with him in a way that had absolutely nothing to do with the oneness she had just fled. Having someone screw her brains out would help enormously right now to help convince her that she was real and alive and not in some eddy of relative sanity back THERE.
There were some problems with that, of course. Her target was sixteen to her nineteen and apparently emotionally a bit younger. Fine. Damnit, she wasn't going back THERE! She had this chance and while sharing a guy was a strange idea, she was going to do it!
In a place bordering Heaven, a scruffy looking man lit a cigar. "Have any of them figured it out yet? That a relationship with Saotome isn't necessarily a romantic one?"
"As long as he doesn't completely reject them, it'll be fine," assured the blue-haired girl, her pink eyes wincing at the foul cloud emitted from the stogie. "They'll figure it out."
"The thing is they gotta work at it to earn this," said Mambo Jack, "them's the rules. So what next?"
