Ash turned around just in time to recieve a flying death glomp from Bayleef. He staggered back, but managed to keep his footing as the transformed Pokemon cried her eyes out on his shirt.
"OhAshyou'reokayI'msosorryIpushedyouintothefireitwasanaccidentIdidn'tmeantopleaseforgiveme--!" Bayleef looked up as she noticed that Ash was still standing. "A-Ash?"
Ash smiled and hugged her back, or at least tried to. He noticed that we was now wrapped up in Bayleef's arms, two vines, and a pair of very large leaves. He was still a little shocked at the transformations, but if there's one thing Ash Ketchum is good at dealing with, it's his Pokemon. "It's okay, Bayleef. I know it was an accident." He wiggled a little "Um, Bayleef..."
Bayleef blinked up at him and blushed. "Oh, sorry!" She stepped back, and gave him a somewhat less contricting hug. "I'm just so glad you're safe."
Ash took a moment to look his friends over. Bayleef was now a full head shorted than he was, and her head was a little more defined from her neck, which while not quite as long as it had been, was still noticably long for a normal humanoid of her size. The leaf on top of her head was now two, both about a foot and a half wide, and extending down almost to her knees. Ash turned away, blushing furiously, as he noticed that the collar of budding leaves around her neck wasn't enough to cover most of her body, which now had the proportions of a teenager. "Um, Bayleef..."
Balyleef looked herself over, blushed double, and used her leaves to cover herself.
"What happened to us?" Bulbasaur asked as he stood up unsteadily on his legs. His bulb threatened to topple him over a bit, and he put one foot behind him as his vines reflexivly shot out to help him stay up. "Whoah...." he muttered as he looked at his new hands. Bulbasaur's stocky build was about under three-and-a-half feet tall, with his bulb sitting just under his shoulder blades.
Noctowl spread his wings... and by instinct, his arms as well as he looked himself over. He hadn't noticed the extra length of his wingspan, and accidentially slapped Totodile in the head.
"Hey!" came a(rather Donald-like) voice from his side. Totodile had a round build, and was just under four feet tall. He tail was much longer now, the tip dragging on the ground when he relaxed it. His feet were longer, to offset the change in geavity.
Fortunately, Noctowl pulled his wing back with a quick enough apology to avoid having Totodile test out his new, larger jaws on it. "Sorry, I suppose this will take some getting used to." He said as he instictively rotated his head a little. "At least some parts of us are still normal." He reflexively flapped his wings, and while was pleased to see that he did lift off the ground a bit, he could feel the strain of keeping himself aloft a lot more than he was used to. Unfortunately, It seemed that his flying ability would be compromised now. Noctowl was just over three feet tall, with talons on his feet and his three-fingered hands. His legs were longer, and built differently now, and he now had arms, but he managed to get used to his body fairly quickly, taking a few steps forward.
Cyndaquil touched his much-shorter snout with his hands, still very much in shock. Had Knuckles been around, he would have noticed that Cyndaquil bore a strong resemblance to A certain Blue or Black Hedgehog, but without the spines. Cyndaquil's head and back flared into flames occasionally as he looked at himself nervously.
"Ash!" Brock's voice came from the trees, a second before he burst into the clearing. "Ash, Misty, are you okay? What happened..." Brock's voice trailed off as he got a look at all the Pokemon. "...here?"
Pikachu looked up from where he and Misty were squatting by the Chaos Emerald, still wary of touching it. "Bayleef found this big gem here, and when she touched it, it transformed everything into this..."
Brock sat down over by the large purple crystal. "I have no idea what this is." He said as he pulled a large handkerchief from his jacket pocket and began carefully wrapping it around the emerald. "We'd better call Professor Oak about this."
Ash nodded. "What about these rings?" He asked.
"What rings?" Brock said, apparenly not noticing the changes to the area around him.
"You can't see them?" Misty asked.
Brock thought for a few seconds, then picked the securely wrapped gem up. "We're definitely going back to Pallet Town now!"
