As a catgirl, she could be stealthy. As a burglar, she could be very stealthy. She wasn't very experienced, but she had a hell of an edge for a beginner.
She could make it into and out of NERV itself fairly easy. She knew where the security hookups were, where the guards were, and what areas the sensors regularly went down in. She wasn't going into anyplace where a real thief would go anyway. Nothing of great value here at all.
Unless you knew where Gendo had hidden little accessways, and he'd given his little windup doll access to them.
His reason had been that when the time came, there might be obstacles to getting to Terminal Dogma or any of the other interesting areas through normal means. A "construction accident" had taken out the few who knew anything about the "Circle Of Willis" other than Gendo and a small group that had eventually whittled down to the Commander and herself.
The hidden shaft allowed her to connect to many of the more interesting rooms. Rei hefted the statuette briefly before she stowed it away again. She had to do this now before anyone learned of her defection.
The Wizard set the statuettes out, each representing a new player in this game.
A catgirl sorceress named Ritsuko. A catgirl swordswoman named Maya Ibuki. A catburglargirl named Rei Ayanami.
It was this last one that had the most potential for amusement.
Especially as Rei was currently sneaking up on
