Kitsuki Naoki let himself feel relief as his son gave a ferocious cry as he came into the world. Stepping into the birthing room he spared a wan half smile for his wife. Who even beneath her mask still had that same beatific look that she had when they learned of the pregnancy.
The Attendent gave the child to Naoki who gingerly held the small child. "So small...yet your birth scream was so loud...hmm, how about Raion?"
"Naoki?" Uzume asked woozily
"Yes we will call him Raion, at least until his gempukku."
"...well it's better than calling him Tatewaki like you first wanted." Uzume reluctantly agrees.
Naoki is a happy man as his son begins to grow. Like his old man, Raion is quick witted and intelligent. He could easily excel as an Investigator, yet Naoki ponders if this is the best option for his son. Raion seems more at home in the outdoors and running around than he does in picking up hidden clues, but then it's all a matter of perception isn't it?
