Rugal was walking calmly toward the fighters. "I hope you have a plan, Ryu!" Ranma whispered as the Modern Pirate approached.
"It is simple. I can end this if I can get one clear shot. Get me that shot." Ryu answered.
K' snorted. "Easier said than done. Well, here we go!" And the battle was joined again.
Iori was the first to fall. He managed to scorch Rugal with a Dark Thrust before Rugal tossed him aside.
K' fell next. He struck Rugal with his Heat Drive, but he didn't have the time to power it up right. Rugal got right back up and stuck K' with a God Press, blasting K' into some rubble.
"And now it's down to two..." he said as Ranma and Ryu circled him. Ranma then rushed in striking with his heard edge... Rugal sneered as he blocked the first strike, but Ranma had baited him, and broke his own maneuver into a low kick, and then followed up with a Rising Tackle. Ryu followed that up with his own Shoryuken.
Ranma rushed in as Rugal rose again, preparing to use the Wild Deadly Rave... but Rugal's Genocide Cutter was faster. And Ranma fell away.
Rugal smirked, and turned... to find Ryu right next to him!
"SHIN! SHO! RYUKEN!" Were the lasts words Rugal heard as Ryu's ultimate technique launched him into the air. Rugal came to rest a short distance away.
"You must defeat shenglong, to defeat me..." Ryu said softly. Rugal's body gave one last shudder, before collapsing, finally. Blood began pooling around him. Rugal, the Modern Pirate, was finally no more.
The camera crews once again gathered, this time around Ryu, bombarding the man with questions.
Iori, K', and Ranma were shakily getting to their feet. "Greet," Iori mumbled, "I bet this guy's going to take all the credit, too..."
Iori was pleasantly surprised to find that not the case. "As an arrow is useless without the bow, so was I." Ryu said cryptically. With a withering glance at the fallen Kyo - who had yet to get back up, despite having taken far less a beating than Ranma, Iori, or K' - before explaining himself. "No one man did this. No one man could. Had it not been for those warriors who stood bravely, again and again against unimaginable power, this monster would not have been stopped. I merely landed the final blow. Truly, compared to them," Ryu gestured at the three other fighters, "an insignificant thing."
Ryu then grabbed his bag, and walked away. Meanwhile the reporters converged on the others.
