"Mmmm..." Meia was positively glowing with contentment and was almost purring in Hibiki's embrace. It was ironic. Since her parents' death, she had been looking for Love and had been ready to give up on the notion altogether because of her bad experiences. Her former partners had used, abused and discarded her, never trying to satisfy her too hard. And it was Hibiki Tokai, a man, an alien being, who showed her what she assumed could only the purest physical expression of the act of Love.
That little lovemaking session had been the proverbial battering ram who had crashed through the walls of her emotional defenses. She was more than willing to have Hibiki Tokai taking a greater part in her life as of right now. A tiny part of her, namely her libido, wouldn't mind one or more repeat of what Hibiki and her had done, xenophilia be damned.
Hibiki mumbled in her bosom, his small frame caught in hers. She hugged him a little tighter and he did the same, basking in the simple act of closeness with another being. They were feeling each other's warmness as the mental link between them allowed them to experience a contact between their souls.
Unfortunately, the moment was broken by the shrill sound of the intercom screaming for attention.
The two lovers' eyes snapped open comically. They tried to stand at the same time and fell off the bed, caught in a tangle of limbs *WUMP!*
"Ow..."
"Ouch..."
The Dread leader's hand reached for the activation button "Meia here... What is it?" She didn't mean for her voice to be so gruff sounding but the interruption of her quality time with Hibiki had unnerved her. She wouldn't have minded it to last a little longer.
"Ah, Meia... I'm sorry to disturb you" It was Amarone, one of the Nirvana's bridge officers "There's been an incident at the Dread hangar. They need you there..."
What now? "All right, all right, I'm going... I'll be there in..." She considered her state of undress as well as her disheveled and sweaty state "A few minutes. It's not an emergency at least?" If that had been the case, a shipwide alarm would have been sounded, her logical mind told her.
"Er... No, not at the moment... Could you please get there as soon as possible, please?"
"Understood" Meia was about to cut the communication off when Amarone spoke again.
"Oh, by the way... If you find Hibiki, tell him to do the same. For some reason, I can't reach him in his cabin or the places he usually hangs out"
Meia flushed a little and was thankful it was an audio-only communication "Will do. Meia out" She turned back to see Hibiki putting his clothes back on in a hurry, nervousness and a bit of panic evident on his face. He wasn't having second thoughts, was he? "Hibiki?"
"Ack! What? What is it!?" The young man's mind was in a state of chaos. The enormity of his acts and what it entailed, according to his new knowledge, were too much for him at the moment. He gulped as he felt that his little show of emotions was hurting Meia, he could feel it.
Meia sighed. It wasn't a good time to speak about their, what?, relationship right now "Notthing... Let's get dressed and go see what happened" She began to gather her clothes back. When she heard her cabin's doors open, she paused "Hibiki?"
Hibiki froze when he heard Meia calling his name "Er... Yeah?"
"We'll have to talk about this... About us... Sooner or later"
"Uh... Okay. Excuse me, I have to go see if my partner's still in one piece. Bye!" The boy practically made a run for it and the doors closed with an ominous whooshing sound behind him.
Meia stared at the closed doors, doubt eating at her resolve. Was Hibiki going to discard her now as the others had done before him? If that was the case, she wasn't sure she could take it this time...
