Sailor Mercury clicked her choice.
"You have chosen to play as the Technologically Advanced Alien!" The game's voice changed from "Perky Girl" to "Mechanically Neutral" as it brought the screen up. "Choose Half of Continent. Eastern Half, Western Half. OR Southern Half, Northern Half"
Sailor Mercury clicked again.
"You have chosen Southern Africa. Choose Start Point."
Mercury considered briefly before moving the pointer and clicking.
"You have chosen Cape Town in Southern Africa.
Unrest Level: 85%, Widespread rioting reported.
Poverty Level: 88%.
Current complaints: Ecological Disaster - Deforestation; Ecological Disaster - Drought; Ecological Disaster - Urbanization; More."
Sailor Mercury took a deep breath and started to work.
Rock and dust was scooped up and loaded onto a conveyor belt. The belt fed into a set of processors that refined the raw material and produced ash and titanium blocks. The ash was sprayed out onto the lunar surface. The blocks of titanium went into a mass driver and were thrown out along calculated trajectories.
The blocks sped into a mass-catcher, which then fed the block into a fabricator. The fabricator produced parts which were then sped off to construction projects.
Some went to the lagrange space colonies. Others to the orbital fleet being assembled. Others to stations around Venus and Mars.
Of course, some of this was being picked up on by Earth-based telescopes. Interpretation varied.
Ami stared at her screen.Things were going well, but they had to decide the next contest now, so they'd drawn cards. Kachoo had beaten her Eight Of Hearts with a Nine Of Diamonds.
"Very well then," said Kachoo. "This sim should prove quite interesting. Let's make the next contest for the North American continent and the place to be Tokyo since that's your home territory. What sort of contest?"
Ami had thought about this carefully and decided. "The next contest will be "
