Ranma and Hobbes: "I'm a tiger? Cool!" [Episode 6028]

by S/Rohm

Genma looked down at where his sleeping son cuddled a slightly battered stuffed tiger and pondered the events of the past few weeks.

The Neko-ken training had not turned out as he had hoped it would.  Rereading the manual in an attempt to find out what went wrong, he noticed the warning for the first time.  Hmph.  Such warnings were always exaggerated.  The Neko-ken had turned out to be a powerful, if somewhat uncontrollable, technique and his son wasn't at all scared of cats.  Quite the contrary, Genma was finding it difficult to keep Ranma away from cats.  Prolonged exposure to cats triggered the Neko-ken and Ranma was continually trying to "become a tiger like Hobbes".  Genma knew letting him keep that stuffed animal would lead to trouble.  If only he had gotten rid of it when he had the chance!

That thought reminded Genma that the bandages on his arm needed changing.  Gritting his teeth, he pulled the old one off and cleaned the wound.  No, it was too late now to get rid of that stuffed toy.  A few days ago he had attempted to dispose of it so that his son would lose this tiger fixation.  When he informed Ranma of what he had done, he was prepared for a fuss, but what actually happened came as a surprise.  Never before had Ranma slipped into the Neko-ken without cats around!  Luckily he had been able to retrieve the toy before Ranma inflicted too much damage.  Foolish boy, didn't he know his father knew what was best!

Sighing, Genma wondered if this would affect the training trip.
