"No! Not that spring!" The Jusenkyo Guide went into his Horrified Reaction pose. "Not Forbidden Spring! Very bad!"
Genma shrugged. "What's worse than turning into a panda?"
Genma realized he was all alone as the waters of the spring churned up past the broken boards. "Uh oh"
Being the Master of the Saotome branch of the Anything Goes School Of Martial Arts, Genma was at the door almost immediately.
The door locked and it sounded as if a bar were being settled into place and was that rattling noise chains?
"Can't we just splash him with hot water?" Genma asked the brief glimpse of movement on the other side of that door.
"Not that kind of spring," came the muffled response. "Not know if hot water..."
A geyser erupted from the pool behind him, causing Genma to run around to the other side. No back door. Windows too darn small, locked, and boards were being hammered into place.
Genma considered this situation in a calm logical manner. "This does not bode well."
Additional wooden cracking noises from the area of the spring.
"So this is it. I'm going to die," said Genma, looking back at all the mistakes he other people had made.
Additional splashing noises and what sounded like a snort.
Genma prepared to meet his doom as a true martial artist. Calmly, with dignity, with courage. Yes. "AAAAAAAAA! I'm too young to die!"
The special manuever of the Saotome School. Run away.
Ranma scratched his head, wondering why his father had run away like that. Oh well.
What he didn't know was that the Spring had been sealed for a very long time. It was known that a martial artist had drowned there, and that the spirit of his Art was powerful and terrible - so much so that it remained in the Spring, waiting for a chance to be unleashed anew.
This was actually the Spring Of Drowned KYA Severely ____________ Martial Artist!
