Akane might be a c-c-c-cat girl, but she was obviously more girl than cat. Okay, it was a little odd to dangle a piece of string and watch her roll onto her back so she could delightedly bat it around with her paws/hands and feet. That smile though - whoa. As if she couldn't spell "care in the world" much less have one.
Kasumi was a dryad. Other than wearing a dress made of leaves that kept flashing bits of skin, being more attractive than ever, etc.
Nabiki was a pixie. Not wearing a damn thing until she could find or conjure something up.
Two wishes made by Happosai, trapping him in the lamp but causing worldwide changes.
1) Effective immediately, all girls will be unable to wear anything but lingerie, jewlery, makeup, and that sort of thing as though under a compulsive nudity effect.2) wish that all women were young and beautiful and sexy and had nice soft hair and skin and didn't sag or wrinkle - with nice figures and...
Nabiki had altered the enchantment, trying to mute it, and had gotten involved in a battle of wills as Happosai became the Slave Of The Lamp and she was freed.
The percentages were given earlier (59221) but to give them some relevance (and to correct a slip up in the math between writing and posting), consider Japan.
Overall population (1992 census) 126,974,628 people. Of that figure:
0-14 years: 14.5% (male 9,465,282; female 8,999,888)
15-64 years: 67.5% (male 43,027,320; female 42,586,112)
65 years and over: 18% (male 9,664,112; female 13,231,914)
so there was a total of 64,817,914 Japanese affected by Happosai's two wishes. Just in Japan, just focus on one particular nation for now.So that was 11,667,224 elves of varying subtypes. 12,963,583 catgirls of various types. 11,667,224 goddesses that averaged the level of power where minor magical tricks were possible. 9,722,687 Sailor Senshi were looking for some evil butts to kick or gleefully trying out their powers. Some would eventually become Fallen Senshi no doubt. 7,778,149 demons - who were already villains and getting into fights with catgirls, elves, Senshi, and others. 5,185,433 became Cyberdolls or Marionettes or whatever phrase you wanted to use for usually bighearted androids. 3,240,895 became aliens of one sort or another. Though all in accordance with the actual terms of the wish were humanoid, long lived, and attractive by human standards.
1,944,537 were duals, a combination of one or more of the above. Catgirl elves, alien goddesses, and other exotics among the exotica.
1,296,358 were genie (actually these were just goddesses but more 1001 Nights in flavor who had a common recharge mechanism - genie prisons and not as compulsively nice. Numerically they're a subset of the goddesses above.) 648,179 were faerie, fae folk. Nymphs and pixies and female leprechauns and the like.
Into this setting, Ranma was about to come under a huge disadvantage as a large segment of the human race now had powers and abilities that either put them on a level with him, or were superior.
Which made it actually a good thing he wasn't to be completely left behind.
As it was, he was three transformations (more or less) before he had leakage of his girl-side's traits to boy-side, at which point he'd be a full time
