"I think you got the wrong number," said the figure coming through the portal, "but I'll see what I can do."
Genma frowned. He expected a demon called a succubus to have fearsome suckers on tentacles - hence the name.
"Yes, I think I can do something here," said Kuan Yin.
"Who exactly are you?" asked Genma, looking into the blinding golden light and still not seeing suckers or tentacles.
"Kuan Yin. In Japan, you call me 'Kannon' but that sounds like a weapon. Sometimes I'm called Gwan-eum or Quan Am," said the figure wrapped in golden light.
"What?" exclaimed Genma, getting angry. "What could a pacifist teach my son about being a warrior?!"
"By myself, very little," admitted Kuan Yin. "On the other hand, I have... friends. In all sorts of places."
The light abruptly vanished.
Of Kuan Yin, of Ranma, Genma could see no sign. The only thing left behind was an odd plastic square. Picking it up, he wondered exactly what it was and how it was supposed to work.
"You left him a 3.5 floppy?" asked one of the demons on the other side.
"Oh yes, and he'll have to wait for a much later development of an OS in order to access the file," said Kuan Yin. "If he manages it, he'll summon his son back. That was one way to ease HIS suffering, even if it is at cost of his son's. In the meantime, perhaps young Ranma can begin the path of enlightenment."
