"But I thought..," Kasumi began and then shook herself. "Come in, come in!"
Hustled in, the middle Tendo daughter smiled as she took in the way that her sister was treating her. Now matter how many years might have passed, she was still thinking and taking care of others. And seeing as it was her visiting, she was pulling out all the stops.
"Are you hungry? Thirsty?" the elder sister asked as she sat Nabiki down, "Have you been getting enough to eat?"
The other woman chuckled slightly and held up a hand. "We're fine, but a drink for us would be nice."
"Oh, of course!"
"Let me guess? Tea?"
"You know... I haven't been doing it that long..."
"Yes, you can."
Leaving for a moment, then coming back and settling down with a tea service, Kasumi poured her sister and herself a cup, while giving Tse some water. "It's so wonderful to see you again."
"Same here."
"You've changed quite a lot since you left."
"You have no idea... But I managed. Still, you look wonderful."
That brought a smile to the older woman's face. "Some time after you left, I took up medicine."
"Good for you! I always said that you shouldn't have been kept as a housekeeper for the rest of your life."
"Luckily, I wasn't."
"I bet our father wasn't too pleased with that."
Biting her lip, Kasumi sighed. "He did not have much of a choice."
"What? Why?"
"Father was sentenced to prison."
"WHAT?!"
"Soon after you left, the head of the investigation into... the event came to talk to him, but Father wouldn't listen to anything he had to say. He kept on telling the man to not dishonor our family, and when the offical insisted, Father... attacked."
"That couldn't have been good."
"It wasn't. Father was no match for him and was defeated. Soon after, he was charged and convicted of assaulting an officer, obstructing justice and a whole host of other crimes."
"I'm... not surprised. He was too blinded to see reason unfortunately," Nabiki said with a sigh. It turned to a smile as she saw her daughter holding out her cup. "What do we say?"
"Thank you Auntie 'Sumi," Tse said shyly.
"You're welcome," Kasumi said with a soft smile. "Would you like some more."
The small girl nodded slowly, and her mother chuckled at the great dignity that her sister was pouring with. "You certainly have a way with children."
"Having them myself does help."
"You did? So where are my nieces and or nephews?"
"Out with their father, visiting friends."
"I see..."
"And what of you?"
"Things just sort of... happened. We were together for so long and so closely, that it was bound to happen. Still, it gave two wonderful children to Tarou and I."
"'Tarou'?! As in that young man who kept on coming here to bother grandfather Happosai?"
Nabiki grinned. "One and the same."
"Oh my... But where is he now?"
"With the children."
"More? You two had more?"
"Emotionally? Yes. Biologically..? No."
"What ever do you mean?"
"Two of the children in our care were not ones that he fathered or I gave birth to."
"Then whose are they?"
"Ranma and Misao's."
"Oh my..," Kasumi breathed as her hand came up to her mouth, "You found them?"
"Yes. They were with him the entire time."
"And where are they now?"
"Getting ready for a trip."
"Where are they going?"
"Here."
The elder woman stared at her sister in shock while:
