Ranma hazarded a guess that Mousse was familiar with the concept. "You know those magic shops that you can never find when you need them but are always ready for customers?"
"Oh shit," summed up Mousse. "All of these?"
"Yup. Apparently Akane got lost chasing me, ended up here and-" Ranma let his voice trail off.
"This is very bad, Ranma Saotome. If Shampoo's in danger I will never forgive you."
Ranma glared at the blind duck-boy. "Oh really. And how is this my fault?!"
"If Akane hadn't been chasing you in her weekly 'Benny Hill' mass chase sequence rage - none of this would have happened," explained Mousse. "Besides. It's kind of tradition around here now. Anything goes wrong, blame Ranma because there's sure to be a connection somewhere."
"Figures," grumbled Ranma. "Ryouga the trend setter. Well, here we are. Furries 4 U."
"I'll wait out here," proclaimed Mousse.
"Don't you want to look for Shampoo?"
Mousse lowered his glasses to look Saotome in the eyes. Or he would be if he weren't staring at his reflection in the window. "Saotome. Admittedly some of my plans haven't been well thought of. Do you honestly think I'd quack!"
Watching Mousse take a step backward, fall into a puddle of water, and turn into an agitated duck, Ranma wondered if he were the only sane person in Nerima. "Wait here, Mousse."
"Ah, you must be Ranma Saotome," said a clerk as Ranma entered the store. "If you'll step this way, you'll find your pets have been registered, given their shots, some basic training, and are ready for pickup."
"Pets," repeated Ranma even though Japanese doesn't have a plural he somehow knew.
Dreading what he was going to find he discovered Akane happily yelping in her cage, and somehow she looked different. Sure enough there was another cage with:
