It was not just some hideway, for somewhere along the line, it had become a home. And not only did she become a teacher, but she had become an adopted grandmother. With children who had nothing save innocence about them around, things had been warm and kind, even with what was hanging over them.
But now it was time to face the past, and she found herself loathe to do so. This place was a haven of not only body, but of soul and mind. Here one could pretend that the outside world did not exist. They'd eventually had to deal with it, except that she merely wished that they could skip it.
Perhaps it was old age talking, as she knew that she did not have all that long left to her. It made one reflect and wish for a more simple and cared life. Truly, she would have liked nothing better than to watch Aoshi, Kitsune, Tse and Zhen grow up and have children of their own. She might not have made it, but she would have liked to try.
However regret did not settle anything, and she knew that. The others had already left, leaving her to be the rear guard. Nabiki and her children were the forerunners, as no one would be expecting them. Then came Tarou and Ranma's children, with her behind to protect them, and to be a 'secret weapon'.
As such, she knew that she needed to move as quickly as her old bones could take her. She owed that much to Ranma, Misao, their children and Nodoka. At the start of it all she had been there, and she intended to be at the end.
So she began her long journey while:
