Soun Tendo, currently turned into a turtle and attached to a demonic merry-go-round, found himself reminiscing about the good old days back under Master Happosai. Back in the days of his youth, the Master was constantly endangering the world through the misuse and misappropriation of demonic artifacts, satanic implements, and all manner of things that he'd stolen from the Chinese Amazons back before they installed good, stout locks on their antiques cupboards.
It had always turned out alright, though - somehow, the world had never ended up being destroyed by their efforts. In fact, Soun had already started hatching a plan.
All he needed to do was to wait for somebody he recognized - ANYBODY, for that matter - to show up. He'd explain the situation calmly and rationally, they could go search for the prize, and then once they found it it would be a simple matter for the Saotome and Tendo brains together to determine the name of the demonic entity. Certain technicalities, like the fact that pandas and turtles can't talk, could be rectified later.
At this point, if just about anybody in Nerima showed up at the carnival, then Mr. Tendo's plan would succeed, the world would be saved, and everybody would live happily ever after. Ranma Saotome could handle a simple thing like finding a carnival prize, no problem. So could Akane, for that matter, or any one of the fiancees. Ryoga would have no problem, assuming he found the carnival in the first place. Even the mighty Tatewaki Kuno, the Blue Thunder of Furinkan High, stood a reasonable chance.
Unfortunately, the person who showed up first up had other things on her mind than finding carnival prizes.
"OOOH! That TURTLE is SO cute!"
Unless, of course, they were really, really cute ones.
"Camille! Camille!"
