Once there lived a relative good alchemist in Frankfurt, Germany. His name was Faustus. And he had the delusion to try and be the best. In another reality Mephistopheles may have tried to get a deal with him, but in this he created something that enabled him to travel through time. So he used it to try and meet the one and only Merlin. Some portions packed in a bag he used his created ‘time machine’ and traveled through time.
But he got his ‘target time’ wrong. As he breathed the first time in the new time, he also did his last breath. He had materialized deep in the past, maybe 100.000 years, near a pond used by a pride of Smilodon. As Faustus was killed, his bag fell into the pond and the portions mixed with the water, having an interesting effect that needed 1000 years to break through completely.
In these 1000 years, this and 100 other prides of Smilodon went through an accelerated evolution, getting more and more intelligent and became bipedal intelligent beings. And the mix of portions had another effect on these Smilodon. Without to learn the language of another intelligent being, they would be able to understand them. And even without a larynx that was able to form another language, other intelligent beings would be able to understand the Smilodon.
With time, the Smilodon became friend of the two big human species in the past, the Neanderthals and the Cro-Magnon. As a catalyst they even prevented the two races to become extinct and leave the modern human to become the sole survivor of the evolution of mankind.
Around the early stoneage, Smilodon made contact to another race of intelligent beings on earth, the dolphins. Even with them unable to enter the land, the now five races of earth became good friends.
The rest of history was similar to other histories of earth. There were the big cultures of the past. The Egyptians, the Chinese, the Aztecs, the Greek, the Romans, the Inka and other big ancient cultures. Wars were fought and countries invaded each other.
Now we are in the twenty-first century. The world still lived through two World Wars. Hitler, Stalin and Mao still lived and had many followers. The first man on the moon still was Niel Armstrong. But there were changes. Aside from the modern medicine, shamanism is still high, beside Christianity and the other big religions there are still old religions existing. Tradition and modern technology are existing side by side. And the second man on the moon was the Smilodon Buzz Aldrin.
So now we take a look at a changed life. Who will it be?
