Without any warning the relative calm of the Jubaan Junior High School’s break was interrupted by a large ‘thing’ that slammed into the pavement of the courtyard. The ‘thing’ was around seven meter in diameter and composed of gunmetal-grey colored hexagons. One of the hexagons opened and someone stumbled out if the ‘thing’.
The person was clothed in the same survival suit as astronauts are, whenever the space shuttle starts. He fiddled at the helmet and threw it away from himself. He was Caucasian looking and had numerous bruises on his face and his hair seemed to defy gravity, at least at the moment.
Frank Parker breathed in deep and leaned against his ‘time capsule’. A short glace around showed that he had gotten to his target. Well, more or less, he thought as he looked into the shocked faces of the boys and girls.
Shortly a face appeared in his mind, but he shook it away. It wasn’t time to think about her, when he had to save Tokyo. In roughly 36 hours a 50 MT nuke would destroy the capital of Japan and the surrounding area. The only thing that made the guys in Never Never Land think was the fact that there was no radiation from the explosion. So they figured that someone had developed some kind of catalytic H-bomb, that didn’t need a normal fission nuke to blow up. But Frank didn’t buy that. It had to be something altogether.
He shook his head again and fished a cell-phone from one of the pockets. He looked at the burnt and fried thing.
“Figures,” he muttered before walking to one of the school girls.
She was busy to fiddle with her own cell-phone, as he approached her and grabbed it. He held it to his ear and heard a voice say something in Japanese.
“She calls back,” Frank said and cut the connection.
He than dialed the Number.
“Cassiopeia,” he said as someone answered him,” I’ll wait.”
“Frank?” asked another voice after a few moments,” Where are you.”
Frank took a second look around.
“Ah, I’m near some school in Tokyo. I believe it is near Ground Zero.”
There was a short silence on the other end of the line for a few seconds. They knew that Frank talked about a nuke.
“How long?”
“Around 36 hours.”
Frank wanted to say something else, but he was interrupted by a hand on his shoulder and a familiar feminine voice.
“Excuse me?”
He turned around to talk to the woman, but before he could say anything other than ‘What’ he stopped and stared at the woman in front of him.
It was HER. She had the same dark-green hair, red eyes and fantastic figure he remembered. She was someone he couldn’t forget, even with him being unable to forget anything, since he had seen her for five years every day.
“Mom?”
