She left her room just in time to remember that she didn't have to prepare breakfast this morning; that was now Ranma's responsibility.
The sound of the front door opening drew her attention. She watched as Ranma led an out of breath Hotaru inside. "Go ahead an' clean up when you're able, Hotaru. I'll have breakfast ready in a few minutes."
"Yes, Ranma," Hotaru responded, sitting down just inside the doorway to catch her breath.
"Morning Michiru," Ranma greeted as he passed her on his way to the kitchen.
Michiru followed, and was about to interrogate him, when he washed his hands. The transformation from raven-haired hunk to busty redhead was enough to detrain her thoughts. Even expecting it, it was still impressive to watch; the Starlights didn't undergo nearly as drastic a change as Ranma seemed to. The Starlights, as men, were rather effeminate, and as women, has masculine builds just like Haruka. They stayed, roughly, the same height regardless of form. Ranma's transformation was similar only in the nature of the change. There was at least a foot in height lost between male and female forms, and he was almost the definition of masculine when male, and feminine when female.
It was small wonder he didn't like the transformation.
"Oh, sorry," Ranma said, "I guess I should explain..."
Michiru held up a hand. "No, I'm sorry for staring. Setsuna warned Haruka and I last night of your curse. I was just surprised to see it happen."
Ranma frowned a bit. "I wonder how she found out about it." She then turned to her work, starting the preparations for breakfast.
"Where did you take Hotaru this morning?"
"Oh, I normal practice a bit before breakfast," Ranma explained, not turning to Michiru, but keeping her attention on her cooking. "The walk to and from the park is good exercise for her, and I lead her through a basic kata."
"All before breakfast?" Michiru voiced amusement clear in her voice. "Well, I'll let you cook and go check on Hotaru, okay?"
Ranma nodded.
As Michiru walked past the couch once more and noticed Haruka still sleeping there, she gave the couch a kick. "Wake up, already, Haruka."
Haruka responded, "Huh, wha..."
"Time to rise and shine," Michiru commented as she passed.
Setsuna exited her room as Haruka ambled into her own. She stopped at the kitchen and commented, "I've arranged for you and Haruka to fight on a field outside of town. It's abandoned, so you won't have to worry if you get a little destructive."
"You seem to know a lot about me; I'm assuming you bought the information from Nabiki, right?" Ranma concluded, not caring. "So you know how good I am. You don't really think she's that good, do you?"
"No, but we have some secrets that cannot be simply revealed to others," Setsuna stated. "To save her pride, Haruka might just use some of those secrets. I'd rather not have to worry about her doing something foolish."
Ranma shrugged. It didn't really matter to her where they fought. "Sounds good to me. Breakfast will be ready shortly."
