Ranma's new employer bowed to the shrine on the wall of the alcove, then entered and turned to look at the large table, and shelves of materials. From a box he pulled out a pair of latex gloves and put them on. Reaching down he picked up the pigtailed doll.
It appeared to be a cross between a Garage Kit model and an oversized action figure. The limbs were jointed at the wrists knees elbows and ankles. The face was molded very much in Ranko's image, and the plastic hair molded to resemble her preferred pigtail. Covering the dolls body was a small copy of the Bunny outfit, made using scraps left when the original was made. In all, the doll looked just like the waitress serving tables in the main restaurant.
He looked it over critically, then nodded to himself. "Overkill, but every aid in sympathy." With a tiny brush he added a small smear of glue to the back of the dolls red head. With a pair of tweezers he picked up a single red hair and pressed it into the glue. Picking up a small fan, he used it to blow on the glue to make sure it hardened in place. Placing the doll in the center of a diagram, he lit two candles, and began chanting.
In the restaurant, Ranma paused on her approach to a table of customers. She felt a small spike of cold down her back, and thought she could hear but not make out some sort of chanting. A moment later it faded, and she plastered a huge fake smile on her face and bounced over to the customers.
"Ok," her boss commented in his hidden workspace as he looked at the doll. "That should do it." He picked it up, and carefully put on a miniature chair in a box he had prepared. Mentally he reviewed his preparations of the box. The four inner walls were lined with comforting images, the chair was a mini recliner. Small details, but they would be what made the message written on the wall in front of the doll effective. "I love wearing this outfit."
He nodded and left the alcove, closing the bookcase behind him. "Always start small."
