Parents And Children: A Reminder of Heroism [Episode 64989]

by Thrythlind

Tarou looked to the the back of the house he had built and the shrine there that was dedicated to the children's deceased parents as he thought of the day that they were killed.

It had been a combination of Ranma's and his wife's past that had brought about their deaths. There were some important names among the enemies, but they had not come alone. When it came to time that they decided to rid the world of the Saotome's, they had pulled out all the stops.

But that wasn't to say that there were not those that stood with Ranma and his wife, and in the back room there was also a reminder of one of those. A reminder, and a symbol of hope.

In the back was a near perfect statue of a young woman, her face set in a determined and defiant shout as a single tear worked down her cheek. Her arms were thrust outward in a shoving manner, as if tossing or pushing something away. The rest of her body was braced for impact with something, whatever it is she was forever silently shouting against.

This statue had been carved by no man's hand. One of the fiancees had stood with Ranma and his wife, and she had enabled the escape of the children to come to Tarou's care. But to do it, she'd had to unleash a potent weapon of her own making. And Tarou suspected, from that single tear, that she had known that she was too close to the center when she had unleashed it.

This woman was not the only such statue, there were many more, all standing in silently indestructible battle stances. For the woman's weapon had done that all to them...made them into stone.

The children weren't yet aware of the importance of that statue to their own history, in time, Tarou might tell them of who she was. Of course then, they'd want to find a way to free...
