crackle BOOM!
Akane looked out at the building off by itself, surrounded by a fancy wrought iron fence, a few acres of dead grass, a few blackened formerly living trees, and the six story building that looked as if it had been made in the 1930s by an architect who had been if not completely insane himself at least somewhat deranged. She glanced up at the cloud cover, rumbling slightly with thunder, and the flitting little ghostlights orbitting the clocktower. Her reaction was perhaps a little out of character (at least as far as majority interpretation is concerned) but certainly understandable. "You have got to be kidding me. Are you completely insane!"
Yuka and Sayuri whimpered. Ranma snored.
"Don't tell me you believe in ghosts, Akane. Just because someone likes this sort of atmosphere and gets a few dollars and their jollies giving tours of some so-called haunted house? Puh- leeze." Nabiki tsked at the gullibility of some people.
"chopchopchopchopkillkillkillkill"
"See it even has crickets," said Nabiki, pointing at the noisemakers.
"Maybe it's got some pretty girl ghosts?" Hiroshi asked.
"Nah, it don't mean a thing unless she's got some flesh on those bones," opined Dai.
"In 1932 this was opened as the Lovecraft Asylum for the Criminally Insane, prior to that it was a bordello run by a Mademoiselle Shinsama but apparently the young ladies began disappearing and it closed within a year," said Miss Hinako as she read from the brochure. "The Asylum lasted a full five years after that before everyone started dying. There have been four attempts to reopen it. Wow. Looks like some very clumsy people have been here. Look at how all of them had accidents."
P-chan, having stowed away on the bus, listened to Miss Hinako and looked towards the building. Didn't look inviting at all.
"Do not fear, fair Akane, my trusty bokken shall smite any that do threaten thee."
"I am so filled with confidence," said Akane in reply, the sarcasm practically dripping from each syllable. Naturally it was lost on Kuno.
Ranma continued to snore.
"Come on, students, this way. This is a really historic site," said Miss Hinako, walking down the pathway to the frontdoors. It must not have been locked because they opened by themselves before she'd gotten to them.
