It mainly depended on who you were and where you were.
SEELE-11 hesitated but finally spoke. "Has anyone else heard these report of 'Catgirls'?"
SEELE-8 was a black obelisk but would have sweatdropped if he could. "You mean female cats?"
SEELE-11 responded. "No. I mean the typical anime or manga style catgirl."
SEELE-7 expounded. "They are usually perky young girls with cat ears and tails, or some semblence of such. They are usually fairly... buxom as well."
SEELE-9 was impatient. "Is there something we should know about this? Other than the Japanese continue to have weird fetishes?"
Keele Lorenz cleared his throat. "I have heard the reports. I have seen pictures. How this relates to the other madness going on in Tokyo-3 has yet to be determined."
SEELE-3 groaned. "Pictures? You mean these reports are for real?!"
"It has to be some kind of Angel attack," postulated Keele. "However there is no indication of this in any ancient writings that I have uncovered."
"If it spreads, it would still fit in with Hopi prophesy and Mayan predictions about a worldwide change in the basic nature of humanity," pointed out SEELE-11.
"Other than vague ones like those," appended Keele.
"Perhaps we should capture one for study," suggested SEELE-8. "There may be clues as to how this is occurring."
"We'll let Gendo do it as he is trying to capture one now. As soon as he has data, we will have data." Keele promised. "Any luck on rebooting our own MAGI supercomputers?"
"Trying to do it physically has been unsuccessful, we're not sure HOW they're drawing power right now," came the voice of SEELE-2.
"So what do we do about this Angel in the volcano?" asked Fuyutsuki.
"I'm tempted at the moment to let the UN use their N2 mines," said Gendo. "Right now the Angel is not threatening anyone and we have some immediate concerns. It would hardly do to dispatch our Eva pilots only to have them disappear en route."
"Especially as we still haven't caught any of the Rei clones," agreed Fuyutsuki. "One thing though."
"If you can find where the mariachi music is coming from, you are quite welcome to shut it off," said Gendo, beginning to sound a little exasperated.
"What's on Channel 9 now?"
"If I didn't know better, I'd say someone had spliced together an old anime series called 'Sabre Marionette' and an old TV series called 'Babylon 5'. Apparently they got the rights from the estate of the creator on the latter series as its an official tie-in. It deals with this guy operating a small scout ship whose brother was a Ranger who was reportedly killed and he just woke up this humanoid android the Vorlons had built and hidden away on this asteroid..."
"Any good?"
"Actually, she's pretty damn cute. Looks a bit like Megumi Hayashibara."
Fanfare music played, drawing the attention of the three working on the JOBS system and the one girl tied to the chair.
