Faking It: Stallion and Rose: And Kuno thought HE was the Blue Thunder... (LIME) [Episode 66150]

by Stormrider

"HOLD, SAOTOME!"

Ranma and Kodachi look up, one face showing annoyance, the other fear. "Just what I needed," Ranma grumbled. "Now today is perfect."

Ranma stood up, turning to face the True Blunder of Furinkan High School. "What is it this time, Kuno?"

"You know very well my reason for coming, cur! I will free the beauteous--"

Ranma cut him off. "--beauteous Akane Tendo and Pigtailed Girl from my foul clutches, yadda, yadda, yadda. Listen, Kuno, if I was controlling Akane with magic, would I be sitting under a bridge while she's back home sleepin' with another girl?"

Kuno was shocked. "What did you say?"

"You heard me. Akane's sleepin' with Shampoo. Has been for a while. At least that's what I heard. Ukyo too."

About the only thing preventing Kuno from having a nosebleed was all the blood rushing to other parts of his body. He shook his head, and raised his bokken again. "What vile sorcery have you worked upon Akane Tendo, you monster!?"

Ranma was getting a little ticked off at this point. "You just don't get it, do ya? Akane Tendo would rather be with a woman than you! And not just any woman! The one she really wants is the Pigtailed Girl!

"And another thing! The Pigtailed Girl wants nothin' to do with you! The only Kuno she cares about is sitting behind me!"

Kodachi sat up and blinked at that somewhat round-about admission from Ranma.

Kuno fumed. "So, your dark magics have turned my beloved Pigtailed Girl to the affections of my twisted sister now? For that, I shall destroy you!"

Now Ranma had had enough. His battle aura, normally just a bluish glow surrouding him, erupted into cerulean flame. "Oh, really? Tell me, Kuno Tatewaki, oh noble Blue Thunder of Furinkan High, are you a god?"

Confusion crossed Kuno's face. "Nani?"

Ranma stepped closer to Kuno. "A god. Ya see, I met one recently. At least, if he wasn't a god, he was as close as you'll find on Earth. He could fly, throw fire balls five meters across, and heal instantly from anything you did to him."

Kuno started backing away from the apparition, but Ranma followed. "Ya see, while we were in China, Akane grabbed hold of some magical staff. It turned her into a doll, and the only way to cure her was in this magical spring. I was tryin' to get the water when this god got in the way. Seems he wanted all the water for himself."

Kuno was experiencing something he could not remember ever feeling before. Fear. As he contined to back away, Ranma continued, "I cared for Akane, a lot. There was no way I was gonna let her die like that. I killed that god so I could save Akane's life."

By this time, Kuno had backed himself right into the embankment. He stood there as the pillar of blue flame leaned in towards his face, just barely revealing the martial artist within. "And if you ever even think about touchin' Kodachi again..." Ranma grabbed Kuno's bokken, the wooden blade bursting into flame. "...I'll kill you! NOW GET LOST!"

Kuno ran, desperately in need of fresh underwear.

Taking a deep breath, Ranma dismissed his battle aura. As he did, he felt a hand on his shoulder. He turned around to see Kodachi standing there, tears in her eyes.

Tatewaki was not the only Kuno to be experiencing new emotions tonight. Kodachi vaguely remembered hearing of Ranma making a similar statement almost a year ago, to one Mikado Sanzenin. From what she'd heard of that incident, he'd been utterly sincere at the time.

She was sure that incident could not have held a candle to what she had just seen. He'd admitted to caring for her (her idiot brother, of course. would not understand that). His display of raw power was impressive, and only added more credence to his tale of slaying a god to save the life of that Tendo girl, who apparently only cared for him for his curse, something that wasn't him at all, something that anyone with sense enough to get out of the rain (not that there were all that many people like that in Nerima) could see he wanted to be rid of.

The more fool she.

Kodachi had fallen in love with Ranma Saotome from almost the instant he'd landed on the roof of the Tendo Dojo with her in his arms. Even in Nerima, with its extraordinarily high ratio of martial artists, the number of people who could have caught her with such disdain for the Law of Gravity could be counted on one hand.

The number of attractive males who could do so could be counted on one hand and leave enough fingers left over to play Jan Ken Pon. The only other one she knew to possibly have sufficient skill was that Hibiki boy, and he'd get lost on the way to the roof.

Just maybe, they could write that new chapter...together.
