Kain almost couldn't believe his eyes. Rock's left eye was pretty much the only thing left working on him. "Boy, just what the hell happened to you?"
Rock couldn't do more than grunt. Fortunately, the doctors left accurate notes. Kain couldn't help but grin as he read the cause of the injuries Rock received after being admitted to the hospital.
"A little advise, nephew. If a girl is trying to help, just go with the flow. It usually causes less damage that way."
Rock grunted again, and glared with his good eye.
Kain pouted. "Now don't be like that. I'm sorry I laughed. It's just... did you know your father went through nearly the same exact thing when he was first courting your mother?"
For the first time, Rock didn't seem hostile as he murmured for Kain to continue.
"Oh yes, Marie almost managed to kill him several times. They both just seemed to have the worst luck around each other, and somehow, Marie would end up injuring Geese. In fact, I do believe those two spent more time together in hospitals than they did on actual dates. That's when your father picked up the nickname as the 'Immortal' Geese Howard, you know."
Rock made an inquisitive moan.
"When did it stop? Hmmm... I do believe it stopped after your mother tied Geese to her bed and had her way with him. They didn't leave her room for two days, you know..."
Kain chuckled as he saw what little skin was visible turn red. "Yes, that was my reaction at the time, too."
Kain decided it was time to get down to business. "Actually, I came to offer you some help, Rock. I know how much you want to get out of here before Sakura-chan has to leave... and there is a way..."
Rock could tell where this was going, and made an angry yelp.
"Nephew... I am not trying to make you work for me, or with me, or anything," he said with almost complete honesty. "This is your birthright, Rock. And unless you master it, it will always hold you back. I do not care if you choose never to use it afterwards, but until you learn to control the power flowing in you, it will always work against you."
Kain pulled out a scroll. "This is another of your birthrights, Rock. One from your father, and I think it is past time you got it. The technique on this scroll will allow you to heal rapidly. However, you won't be able to utilize it properly unless you accept you power. If you attempt to use this technique while fighting your power, it will only cause you more damage."
"What do you want to do, Rock?"
