"What was that?" Kurumi asked, peering at Ranma closely.
"Er... nothing," Ranma said quickly. "So, you're Tendo's daughter, huh?"
"Well, one of them," Kurumi beamed.
"Oh, um, right. Is your sister older than you?" Ranma couldn't imagine being engaged to Kurumi right off the bat. She seemed so young....
"Yep! I think she's about your age," Kurumi said, nodding thoughtfully.
"Oh, well, that's... good," Ranma managed. So she was supposed to be engaged to one of these girls? Well, it probably wouldn't be too bad. She could use the time to get to know them, grow close naturally over the weeks and months of traveling together while searching for Tendo....
Or not, Ranma reflected, when Kurumi began to lead her through the rain again. After all, she was a girl at the time, and who engaged two girls together?
"Um, anyway, what else do you do besides martial arts?" Ranma asked.
"Travel and search for father," Kurumi answered with a giggle. "What else is there?"
Ranma opened her mouth to retort, but realized that in all honesty, she was doing the exact same things. Swallowing back her comment, she instead said, "Well, I dunno."
"We'll have plenty of time for other things once we find Father," Kurumi said positively.
"Er... yeah, okay," Ranma replied. "But, ah, if we're travelling together, there's something you should know."
"What's that?" Kurumi asked, looking at Ranma over her shoulder.
"But you're a girl!"
"So I am! Guess the deal's off -- gotta go, se ya 'round!"
"How do you get allergic to hot water!?"
"Ancient Chinese curse."
