Crossed Worlds: Other Universes [Episode 67477]

Ranma walked rapidly along the top of the fence, his mind chewing over questions of great importance. Specifically, how to avoid Akane’s cooking tonight. It wasn’t as if he could buy dinner on his own. What little cash he got his hands on usually ended up in Nabiki’s pockets somehow. He COULD hit the Cat Cafe, but he’d stopped by just last night. Ranma generally tried to alternate between which fiancés he mooched off of. This way the Old Ghoul would (hopefully) not know when to whip up one of her potions to spice up his meal. Ukyou was probably a pretty safe bet though.

It should be pointed out that Ranma possessed some VERY acute senses. For instance, he could hear the ringing of the bell on Shampoos bicycle a block away. Same thing with shouts of “Ranma, prepare to DIE!” and evil cackling combined with the crack of a gymnast’s ribbon. The distinctive sounds of a crowd of righteously enraged young women chasing a small shrunken old man carrying a heavy load he could hear THREE blocks away. But then again, so could most people.

So it was more than a little shocking to the pig-tailed martial artist when a swirling, multicolored rip in reality appeared in front of him with absolutely no warning. One moment it was chirping birds, clear skies, and miles of unassuming fence to walk along… And the next, there was this weird whole.

Ranma didn’t even have time to blink, let alone call upon the Saotome Secret Technique (Running away as fast as possible would have seemed like a very good idea, if he had had a moment to consider it.) And so, through the portal he went, an indescribable sensation stunning him as his body seemed to be stretched out and compressed at the same time, for what seemed like both an instant and an eternity.

When it was over, he found himself…
